I was looking over the Motion Invoices(three pages) for 'Rat Bird' a total of $10,700.00 over and above the Cost of a highly optioned out Trans/Am (two page window sticker) MSRP $8,735.00.

$19,435.00 total. That was quite a bit of $$$$ back then IMO.

Anyway ,I found it very interesting that there is a special notation on the invoive with a double asterisk and then signed by the original owner, it reads " This is a race automoblile brought here and to be picked up in a truck with the understanding that the car is to be for of road racing use only".

Just thought it was /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif the way Motion performance was covering their #@%& ,on one serious performance car.

It runs a bit rich. I haven't had the chance to put any miles on it,yet.

I believe the original owner had a licence plate that said 'RATBIRD'.

After a bit of reading and checking I believe that Motion called all the Phase III FireBirds 'Rat Birds'.

The LS6 Short Block/990 heads(LS7) installed by Motion has a stamping on the Deck which reads RB 111 8.

This could translate to Rat Bird ,Phase III ,number 8, but I am just speculating. Does anyone know for certain?

I did have a chance to play with the car this weekend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gifand it was quite a bit of fun. The aspect which is most notable IMO is the 3,500-3,600 rpm hole shot B&M conveter. It is alot of stall for the street, but seems to work very well when you get used to it.

I did mark a few choice locations with two Wide Black Rubber streaks. I know it's Childish but I just couldn't resist /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

If making the rear tires do some real work is childish, then I guess I'm still a child. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
