There's a slim, very slim chance I'll have the opportunity to buy a beach house and if it pans out, I'll most likely have to sell my 69 Z28 JL8. The car is in the middle of the frame off restoration. The car is Hugger Orange, 711 interior, console/gauges and JL8. All #'s match, P-O-P, broadcast sheet. I also have a bunch of rare parts including the crossram setup, GM fiberglass hood, TI, Minilite wheels, heater delete, radio delete, Stahl headers. I'm not sure if the parts would go with the car or as a separate package only. If the house thing pans out, I would need to do something on the car relatively quickly. PM or email for more information.

I have to agree, keep the car!

I have had several questions abt. my RS-Z28 with Xram, and all the times i have turned them down, i have had the thoughts but i®m always after a while happy i didnt sell it.

Jeff, at this point in the restoration you would have a tremendous loss. Just finish it, and enjoy...

The beach house doesn't look like it's going to happen anyway. The only reason I would sell the JL8 is for a beach house which I have always wanted. Unfortunately, the housing prices are going up faster than the Camaro prices! Some day it will happen, just not right now I guess.

Island of Oahu, a new 4 bedroom/2.5 bath with a 2 car garage on a big 4,000 sq ft lot starting prices $450K add small change of 1Million $ or more the closer you get to the water. Beach front can be found for just under $5 Mil, unless you go down by DiamondHead which then you add another 10 Mil to the price tag, but then you get neighbors like Jim Nabors and others of the Rich and Famous Catagory

My friend and his sister bought a place on LBI in October last year and all the houses on his street are now $75K higher.

Drive the car to the beach and sleep in the backseat. Best of both worlds. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Jeff, is this the house Tony Soprano backed out of? If you have 6 or 7 JL camaro's you can trade them in on a dirt floor shack in an obscure beach next to a Marine Base Mortar testing Compound on the left coast. If you want a partner on the house on the right coast, let me know!

Will;
What's up with that? With rates this low, the housing prices around me are rising rapidly - better smack that second appraiser around a little!

That's pretty strange. My house has gone up almost 3 times it's purchased value since 1994. If your house is losing value, then you must live in a rough area or have some new construction nearby that people wouldn't want to live near. I sure hope you can get it appraised for at least what you purchase it for.

Hey Will my wife sells Real-Estate on the side, they use what they call comparables to determine what the Value of a Home is, basically they look at Homes that have sold in your area and find some that look similar to your home and that is where they pull there numbers from. Problem with that is they donít always compare Apples to Apples, We just went through this as well, Beware that allot of the refinance Coís use SUB STANDARD appraisers, they charge normal fees but pocket the Majority of the money, and Pay the guy very little so you are generally dealing with a guy that doesnít always care to much about doing his Job properly.

I donít understand why your home would have gone down, with Interest rates so low the market has been crazy, Only thing that comes to mind is there a Nuclear site nearby that has a leak???, Just kidding.

Will ask to see the comparables they are looking at and see if they are truly the same Home as your, chances are you will find them to be run down a little, but it was the only thing that had sold recently.

Good Luck, Bud.

Just an update, as of now there is no sign of the beach house thing happening so the car is not for sale. If something changes suddenly, I will update the post or start a new one. Thanks to all those who were interested.
