My 69 Camaro has a space saver spare, I dont know if it is correct for my car. It has a 69 date K-1-9 and a wheel code UA. The tire is a BF Goodrich size F78-14, I think it is a neat option for the 69 Camaro. Would this be correct for a 69 350CI SS Camaro? I have posted this question on another site with no luck. Thanks.

It should be 7.35 X 14 and the rim should be gray in color not black....Are you sure this is not a 79 rim?The 69 rim should have the same look at the center section as a stock (say XT or FC) 69 rim around the lug holes. If the area around the lugs is flat it is a 79.Do you have the correct large red inflater bottle to go with it?I could post a photos later if needed.......
UA code is a 79 rim...It also will say TEMP USE ONLY on the outside of the tire in large outline block letters.

This kinda supports the advice you got on the other site before posting you had no luck there... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Jeremiah, Have you checked the bolt pattern to see if it's a Mopar? They used F78-14 BF Goodrich for the 70 Cudas/Challengers. I haven't checked on the UA code though yet? If it is a Mopar, I'm looking for one, and I'd gladly buy it.

I have both,a correct early 69 and the 79.It WAS a option in 69,it did not have the second vavle on the rim like the 79 unit.I used to carry the 79 when I ran a larger tire, face down it's hard to tell the diff. The 69 tire is a little narrower as well........I have a early Mopar rim with the correct tire.I'll check the date code to be sure..I'll let you know.

Firebird rim probably. It was an option on the Camaro starting in 68.It may have even been std. in the Firebird line......I'm not 100% on Pontiacs. It does open up the trunk for other things....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

First of all the last thing I want to do is bash JohnZ, I appreciate his taking the time to help me with my post. Although he incorrectly stated I did not have a space saver set up just as I incorrectly stated it was a 69 date. Not all of us are right 100% of the time. I have found JohnZ to be a very knowlegable and I thank him for his help with this post and others in the past. Dennis, you seem to thrive off of being an ass. But you allways take the time to word it in a nice kind of way. My wife allways says that my being upfront and honest is one of my best qualities. Im getting off the subject, anyway thanks to everyone who took the time to respond to my post. I guess I will keep an eye out for a correct spare tire. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
J - I didn't say what I did to bring up the past from TC as I don't think the gents here want to hear your Z10 saga.
I have never called you names on the TC site just questioned you because you never follow up on all the super secrect Z10 facts your friend of a worker at the factory told you about. (that may not be the exact way you put it, I don't want to mis-quote you...)
Had you said that you posted on another site and and the info you got was... bla bla bla and you were looking for a second opinion instead of "I have posted this question on another site with no luck" one of the folks that visit both sites wouldn't have contacted me and both, said person and myself wouldn't have taken what you wrote in the wrong light. and then I wouldn't have made the comment I did...
I guess if one has to be an ass it's best to be one in "a nice kind of way"! I was always fond of "Brighty of the Grand Canyon" It was a favorite book when I was a kid... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

I wont get into the Z10 story but I will say that I have not followed up on the information or story, not the (facts) as you did in fact miss quote. someday I do hope to check on the car if it does exist and rest assured that you will be the last to hear about it. I had several helpfull replys on this site that clearly answered my questions within one day. You seem to like facts so I will repeat myself and say I had no luck on the other site. Again I thank everyone who took the time to help me with this post.
Great site! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
