Motion Makes It!
Even today, 30 years later, the 454 Motion Vega has to be one of the most radical cars ever sold to the public as a new street legal vehicle. This ad for 9 sec car was shortly before US Government stepped in.

I think only a few 454 Vegas were built. I was told that one guy bought a 350 Vega needed more power so brought it back and had 454 put in.
1974 Car Craft Mag road tested a 454 Motion Vega. The article was called "King Kong is Living on Long Island"
subtitled ..."If the thought of a 454 Vega dosen't excite you, go get a do-it-yourself H-bomb kit"

This article was not very politicly correct to Japanese people but back in 1974 people didn't worry about that sort of thing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

I wasn't aware Motion was involved with the VW's. What mods were they making to the engines? Webers, Dells? what sizes, 1776,1835? Has anyone got A motion VW? Remember the inch pincher, those little bugs sure do move..

i thought motion only did G.M vehicles only,vw's ?.like i've said before the motion phase 3 vega's with the 454 was a land based cruise missle, that car was awesome.i remember back in the 70's reading about them in car craft & hotrod mags.if i were to build another car it would be a v8 vega ,i just wish i could find one they're getting very scarce /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Chuck there is one up here, I saw it last week, I did not talk to the guy, it was pushed out in his front yard the motor was out of it, I passed on it when I saw he was wanting 1300 firm and it was showing some rust, it is not close to me but i have friend down that way that could get his number if you really wanted to pursue it. oh and it was a 74 or later car the big bumpers turned me off, didnt take much motor to make them fly!! Need to add This is a reg old Vega Not a Motion car, phew.

In 1974 Dennis Ferrara set the A/MP record at 9.39 in Suffolk, Virginia. He also had the MPH at 145. He used to make many test runs at Cecil County and usually put the car in the low 9.20's in many occassions at that time. Great Competitor! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
