Will a BBC Corvette or Chevelle pan work in a 1st gen Camaro?

The Corvette will not. Not sure on the Chevelle pan. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Figures...I'm wanting to put on a windage tray, but I haven't found one that works with the standard 4-quart Camaro pan. I've heard you can make 'em fit, but was hoping their was an easier way.

If it's a tri-stepped pan, as in to say shallow at the balancer end, then a 2nd stage deeper in the middle, then sump in the rear it will not. I think these are big car (Impala, Caprice) pans I'm thinking of though, I had one of these and tried to put it in a '70 Chevelle, and the second step in the middle of the pan hit the crossmember before the mounts would line up. I think if you're putting a big block in a 1st gen Camaro, the pan needs to be the type that has a smooth transition from front to sump, no slightly deeper portion in the middle or it'll hit the chassis. I'd say if it's a stock, smooth transition Chevelle pan it should work though. Avoid those big car pans...not good for anything but big cars.
