I spoke with a Guy who worked for Nickey Chevrolet as an oil Change and Lube technician way back in 1951.

He was in High School and worked there during the Summer of 1951. He said that they were open till midnight and that he and his friend were fired for "test" driving a few of the customers cars.

Were they spelling Nickey with a backwards K back then too?

Mr70,
I asked that specific question and he replied that he had always remembered Nicky with the backwards "K". But that was just the way he remember it ,so it was not definative.

In 1972 their parts department was open "all day Saturday and Sunday noon to three". How many dealer parts departments are open on Sunday even today?

Out here in California most Dealer's Parts and Service departments are open all day Saturday, many are open all day Sunday and many of them are open till 9:00pm on the week days. At our store we are still selling new cars at 2am to 3am in the morning on the weekends. Sometimes some of our customers do not even walk in the door till after midnight, go figure that one. Stefano knows about dealers all over the Country, I am sure he could give you an idea what hours we need to keep to satisfy customers now days.
