Wanted to check ballpark prices on a car before I went any further. Car was recently listed at auction here but didn't sell (probably because I was too busy to go...) They had an estimate of GBP30,000 or close to $50,000, which seemed expensive (maybe the other reason it didn't sell).

SS 396/350hp with TH400. Dusk blue (although in the picture it looks LeMans), with white standard interior and top. Louvered hood, not ZL-2. 50K miles. Apparently has original drivetrain, but I haven't been able to verify the numbers yet. "Former concours" winner...condition from the few pictures I've seen looks like very clean driver to older resto.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Remember, I'd be the buyer... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Restored/unrestored? Based on the picture (which is like judging a book by its cover) I cannot see anyone buying the car for $50K. That is too much. But I can easily see $40-$45K. Good luck selling. By any chance do you have a NOM coupe? Just wondering.

I'd say $30's

Jeff,
The Camaro appears to be a Rally Sport which does make it much more desireable. The Color looks in between Dusk and Lemans blue, to me.

Thanks. I thought it might be an RS, too, based on the grill but wasn't sure from the angle of the photo. Definitely need to check all the numbers out before I go any further. I'll let you know what I find out...

Jeff 15% more for the RS Option. Also is this a NOR/LOS car or Antwerp? ANtwerp made would be a little less than the others since your in the UK. Another thing is that Camaro's i would think are few and far between on the other side of the Atlantic so that might drive the price a little

Thanks again, Jeff.

Point taken on rarity, but that may also mean that there aren't necessarily tons of competing buyers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Surprisingly, the 1st Gen cars are pretty popular, but not as much as in the Scandinavian countries (ask COPOAnders or NEW). Plus, GIs serving here and in Germany left a few behind. I'm sure you remember?

They are here though. The Indy Cars were here last week and I, in addition to some other London area US car owners, was invited to do a parade lap of the Brands Hatch circuit prior to the start of the race. The weather was too unsettled for me to take the COPO, but there was a Z11, a 68 RS and a 67 there (plus a Superbird, a host of old Caddy's and some guy in an early 80s Caprice Classic wagon). Just as in the States, the pony cars (and C2 Vettes) have a huge following in Europe because of their race heritage.

I'm still hoping to stumble across some long lost COPO in the hands of some unsuspecting Brit. I'll just have to convince Mr. Cunneen to come and drink some warm beer to make sure... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
