Would it by chance have the CD-3 windsheild wiper delay option?
Looks sorta like cruise control with a switch on the end of the turn signal.
I am looking for this option or it's related parts.

Were the swivel bucket seats available in 1970? Love that option.

ANY IDEA HOW MANY 1970 MONTES HAD A 4-SPEED? I REMEMBER A FEW YEARS AGO PEOPLE WERE SAYING THERE WAS NONE EVER BUILT. I THINK THERE HAVE BEEN A FEW WITH DOCUMENTATION THAT HAVE TURNED UP SINCE THEN. I HAD A 1978 MONTE WITH A FACTORY 4-SPEED. 1 OF 74 BUILT FOR SALE IN CANADA.

-------I had a 71 Monte with a 402 and 4-speed.Bright blue, white top, black gut.I sold it about 1982/3 in the Chicago area. The day I sold it the mileage was 4600 or so.It was probably the nicest original car I ever had.The guy who bought it said he was going to drive it every day and I almost backed out of the deal, but needed the money for another ride.Have any of you Chicago guys ever seen that Monte?I hope its still around!...........Bill S

Bill,

Not lately, but I remember seeing one at Duke's Drive-In in the late '80's. I don't remember a white top, but definitely was a big block 4 speed bright blue 71 Monte with black interior. A stunning car. As I remember, it had just been repainted by Countryside Customs. Maybe they left off the white top. I hope it's still around, too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

In the mid-80's in Minneapolis, before I had a license, I convinced my dad to go with me and look at a "really rare" '70 402/4sp Monte Carlo, original red with black interior. It was pretty solid but getting tired, and the biker dude who owned it was anxious to give me a spirited drive in it, even though it didn't have an air cleaner on it at the time, which struck me as a bad idea.

Unfortunately it was a little out of my price range, so I was unable to secure it as my first car. (Just as well, since it would be years before I would have the patience and capital to restore such a car.)

Dad didn't have the confidence in my eye for automotive values when I found that nice '66 GTO convertible for $1500 back when I was 12, either.

History has validated my judgement, but I still love my dad /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Happy Father's Day, all you Dads out there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
