Rob,
If you get a chance, let me know how Brad Rising's red '64 Gto run's.I think the Glasco's built the motor, but I'm sure it's not going to run as fast as there Pontiac's.It's tough to get much out of a stock 389.Maybe,low 13's?
I found the car locally sitting in the Orignal owners garage since 1973.It's a neat, and nicely optioned car for racing.
Thanks,Jim

Great shot --- looks like a Kodak moment of 60's muscle--picture should go in some kind of automotive time capsule /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Norwalk was interesting to say the least. Rob had new tires that were not broke in, so was having a bad time trying to hook. His pick up on his tranny fell of twice, so he got to do some wrenching. My converter bolts continually backed out, so I was tightening them up every other round. Had no new lock nuts or lock tite! Rob managed some low 13's, so he was a little disappointed. I managed a 12.14, once I finally got the car tuned in. Saturdays' weather was terrible, but Sunday was good. Norwalk had gotten 10 inched of rain in the last 13 days........ so the infield was a little damp!

Sounds like you were real quick as usual! How did JJ run? I heard that the Mopar ran a 12.10! Anything new at the race that no has seen before?

Yeah, as Pete said, I had a disappointing weekend. The torrential downpour we drove through on the way up turned a 14 hour drive into a Gilligan-esque 19 hour ordeal. It was wet Saturday morning, and a fog rolled in, so we sat and waited Saturday morning until 10 something. My first run out of the trailer Saturday morning resulted in having to be pushed away from the ET shack, and since racing was over at Noon, my day was over. I *thought* I had it fixed, as I got a couple passes in Sunday (after having to disassemble the carb TWICE before getting to run), but in the first round of the matchups I got the ole "red eye" and the tranny left again. So, my weekend was done, which sucked, as it cooled off and the barometer started to come around a little. Once again, I choked and only managed low 13s, which was about 3 tenths and 2 MPH off of my previous weeks performance. I have YET to run a 12 in a Pure/Factory stock race, other than the F.A.S.T. race in Martin. But, it could have been worse, just ask Brian.

JJ ran some .30s, but I don't think he improved on his MPH. Yeah, Dudek went quick, but I still think a white Chevy is gonna be first into the 11's...

I had the car all ready to run, and was actually gonna try and relax at an event for once and actually WATCH some racing, but the tranny had other intentions.

Oh, and Rising was running 13.3s@104 the few times I got to watch any racing.

Rob, How many cars did you get with the bad weather?

what happened to Brian?

I think someone said there were 70+ cars there on Sunday? Probably only half that on Saturday.

Brian was moving a 400th tranny over to Pete's trailer (tailshaft on shoulder, hands around lip of bellhousing, tranny pointed vertically) and as he stepped into the trailer he slipped (been raining) and fell. Took a finger or two off and screwed up a couple more on each hand...a VERY bad deal.

Boy...I'm sorry to hear that. Do you know how he is doing?

Actually he is doing surprisingly well. He is sewn up, and has some pins in, as they managed to get everything back were it belongs. They expect pretty much a full recovery, but we'll see.
