I met with the 2nd owner of my car a few weeks ago. He gave me some new pictures from 73. At this point the lace paint was removed and a Warshawski hood scoop (Christmas present from his wife) was added. Love the Torq-Thrusts! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Is that a hood scoop grafted onto a stock flat hood, or a modification done to a GM cowl hood? Cool pictures.

Get out the sawzall! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif I didn't ask if he cut a hole for it or just threw it on top but that is the original flat hood there. The scoop came from Chicagoland's auto parts metropolis Warshawski (J.C. Whitney). Not sure if they are still around. My Dad used to order all his Model 'A' parts from there.

2nd owner is from Plano, Il. He still lives there. Here is a picture of him reunited with his old buddy.

Over winter he has had some health problems. He had bypass surgery 7 weeks before my visit. He is doing well but I figured my idea of rehab was best for him. See pic.

Darren,
I'd say that was a great idea for rehab /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Hope it wasn't too hard on his heart if he happened to do a little of this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif It's nice that he still has an interest in and appreciation for the car and your care of it. The original owner of my Chevelle lives 2 blocks away from me and was all excited when she found out I got her old car. She drives by my house all the time, but hasn't stopped to see the car yet /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Is that picture heading down Rt. 34 in Plano?

I know the opportunity to drive did wonders for him. He got on it a couple of times. I could tell he was having fun. We we got back to his house and his wife said "Your smiling, I haven't seen you smile in a long time."
Good eyes Bill. Rt 34 indeed.
It's not who I thought it was.
Still a very nice story and pix as usual Darren. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

You lucky dog you! You get even MORE vintage pics of your car! IM JEALOUS! The second owner of my Chevelle who owned it from 1976-1989 hung up the phone when I contacted him! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif There is that board member who I sent all the info to that I KNOW could lighten him up though....... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
That is cool what you did for the second owner of your car Darren but I would expect nothing less for a class act such as yourself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

They have a lot of pictures of the car. Even ones of them sanding the lace paint off. Currently they are looking for a pic at Oswego Drag as well as a trophy that he won with the car. Oh yeah, their digging for the Protect O Plate to.
I cannot believe that the guy hung up on you. I can't say I have ever heard of such a thing. Nor can I understand it. Can't imagine that someone who used to own such a nice car would have no interest in it or care to know it's condition today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif Unreal.
Thanks for the compliment. Hey, apparently just clouds tonight, no rain. I am heading to Wheaton tonight. If anyone goes look me up. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
Just got home,Go to the Popcorn store...I'll see you there!
