Well I went to see the car and it is NOT a Yenko. It does have Yenko decals on both of the side windows(back seat windows)It looks like it started out as a ss350 4speed car.I now has a 396 of unknown pedigree.Other than that it looks unmolested.Body is in great shape with no rust or rot that I could see.Interior is good.Bench seat.Lady wants $1000 for the car.I offered $850.She said she will think it over. The car is all there, trans, rear, ect. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Zgator,
Give the lady her $1,000 and bring it home asap.Deals like that do not come along very often.I have missed a few over the years by trying to save a couple bucks.Earl

IMO, at $1000 it seems like a gift, especially if it is rust-free. Grab it before someone else does!
If this car runs and moves I would also take her out to dinner for that price------ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif----JoeG

All I can [rather will] say is that if I priced a car at, let's say at most 20% of it's value, and, somebody actually offered me $150 LESS, I would "think about it" as I kicked him off the property, and, told him never to return. If the poor widow will still talk to you, she's a better person than I.

sixtiesmuscle, very well put. I have been insulted by potential buyers also. They make an offer, and i refuse. They call back and offer more, and i tell them i will not sell to them. It is about integrity, and respect. Roger

My friend has done the same thing with his Mustang convertible. He felt insulted by the way the guy was trying to low ball him and when the guy kept coming back with higher offers, he decided not to the sell the car because he didn't like the guy.

I tried to post this earlier but I don't see it.I went and got the car.I gave her 1,250 and got a m21 trans that needs rebuilt.I took a new battery with me and cranked it up.It smoked a little at first but then it stopped.I drove it up and down the street. It runs real strong but does need some brake work.I guess ya'll make me feel bad about low balling her,but I really don't know anything about Novas. Thanks for setting me stright.I'm not the type of person that ripps people off /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
zgator,
Congradulations----sounds like a nice find--
If you don't mind --4--questions---how did you come across this car? ---how many miles on the speedo?---was this car laid up for awhile?------WHERE are you taking this nice lady out to dinner??--- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif---JoeG-- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
