I know I asked this question before but what qualifies a COPO Camaro as a "Double COPO?".

9561 and 9737 were the two COPO option codes

Joe you are correct on the RPO codes. Also, a 15/16 inch front sway bar was part of the 'sports car conversion group pkg'. This is a very nice car with LOTS of neat, documented history.

Charley Lillard

I think the Sway Bar should be 13/16th's.

Charlie gets the gold Star. This Copo not only has the 9737 sports car conversion ,'Yenko' option, but it also came factory equipped with the desirable Rally Sport option, as well as many other options not usually found on a COPO Camaro.

What, no Vigilite?
Just kidding, this could be the highest optioned COPO on the planet.

Stefano; You & Charlie are right, hit the wrong key, 5 instead of 3. Yes, it is a highly optioned RS COPO. Houndstooth interior & lots of neat docs, history & old photos of the car from 1970 with the original owner.

Sorry but i do not like this term Double COPO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif
but no other choice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
a Camaro Z/28-RS is not named a Double RPO...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

I never thought of it that way! Why do we call them single or double copo?

Mr70

And what about a 1970 & 1/2 Camaro?
Chevrolet doesn't seem them that way.....
We are a crazy lot!

I think it has to do with the ice cream theory - two scoops are better then one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Yenko Chevelles in Daytona Yellow or Monaco Orange have three COPO numbers in a row on the build sheet - triple COPO /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

The Yellow only one name Daytona /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Frank,
The reserve on Mattisons COPO was 92,500, $85,000 will buy the car for anyone interested. I have seen the history and documentation on this Double Copo, well documented full history car.
Thanks,

Chevy used Hugger Orange for Camaro and Monaco orange for Corvette and Chevelle for some reason.

What is up with the BLACK floor pans. It must be one of those COOKIE Restorations. If the Yenko came out looking like that, I think I would PUKE! Just my .02 cents.

Patrick J is this your car?

PATRICKJOINER

Yes. Mike from WWMC made me 'an offer I couldn't refuse' & now he owns this neat piece of history. Rare opportunity for someone to own a real 'double' RS COPO.

Jeff H

That's kind of a shame that the car changed hands for no other purpose other than a quick profit which continues to run up the prices on the Camaros. I'm not referring to you Patrick, but WWMC. But I guess I would probably have done the same thing especially since they just layed off 35 people here at work so I'm trying to see where I stand financially if I'm in the next round.

JeffH,
I share your pain.... as prices on these extraordinary cars climb, availability to us ordinary people becomes less likely. But don't blame the seller, the seller's agent, or the buyer, for that matter.
We all know that price is set, where supply crosses demand. Supply, for all intents and purposes is fixed, so the only thing that moves price, is demand. Demand is high, so prices are high. It will continue until price gets so high, that demand freezes, or drops. Then price will drop until it reaches equilibrium, again.

All parties are at fault with these quick turn bar raising muscle car sales. I guess I will just have to wait till the baby boomers are out to pasture or the stock market starts to boom again till I get my shot at owning one of these cars. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Frank, I guess I feel it is no one's "fault" but rather the law of supply and demand. If you and I cornered the market on 69 Yenkos, for example, then we might sell our cars back and forth to each other, until we jacked the price up really high. Then we might be able to bilk some outsider into agreeing to pay the "going rate" for Yenkos, and sell him one of ours. However, he would still have to be a willing buyer.
Buying Yenkos is not the same as buying necessities like food, power, etc. (although some might argue that Yenkos are necessities.

You can't equate selling a Yenko at a high price can not be equated to selling food to a starving man.
