I have a promblem I have had full coverage on all my cars
my son had a fender bender with his car the other day and I had the car fixed because it was not damage bad now : the insurance said the car was totaled /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif after it was fixed ( took less than two days to fix)
and in pa there is a new law if you keep the car and the insurance pays you have to get a reconstructed title which I did not do and ended up paying to fix it myself
The promblem is my truck a 1991 full size blazer 4x4 I also have full coveage on it The blue book value is 1500.00
I am on disability and ues it to go to Drs and trip to the food store and go to car shows I have had it in a few shows and won a few trophies with it I get at least three times a week do I want to sell it Is there a insurance co that will insurance it for what the street value is and not the blue book value /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I would think if you get it appraised the insurance company would insure it for the appraised value. At least thats the way it is here in Texas. The only problem is paying the appraisial fee.I understand about being on disability for I am in the same boat.Money gets tight for most people at times when you are on a fixed income.Thats just the world we live in.

Since I have been an Ins. agent for 30 years you should be able to go to your agent and ask him to put stated amount on your truck some companies don't require appraisals under 10,000 value. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Kim

Kim,
Are collector cars different? I was just hired to do an appraisal on an LS6 for a State Farm insured and I was told they did not need an appraisal if the stated value was under $50K which seemed very odd to me. This car was valued over that so I went ahead with one to protect my customer. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Rick, all companies set their standards different some have higher limits regarding appraisals as for collecter cars stated amount is stated amount whether collecter or junker , but again companies are different on how they class cars Kim /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
