Just wondering how many of them are still around. I know Tom's car is from Francis (Now Londoff Chevy). I have spoken with a few of you guys before about this dealer in St. Louis, MO. My grandpa was the guy in charge there in the late 60's before it became Londoff, and was the one in charge of bringing in the Yenko cars. He even met with Don Yenko in 69 I believe when Don came to St. Louis to see how things were going. As the story goes my grandpa took Don on a tour of St. Louis, the Zoo etc. Don had just been in a racing accident and was in a wheel chair, he had a cast on his broken leg. My grandpa had taken my aunt (who was 13 at the time) along on the tour and she had a cast on her broken arm, so Don signed my aunt's cast and she signed his! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif My grandpa said Yenko was a really nice guy and was saddened when he heard he had died in that plane crash. he also said those cars were ungoddly fast and he remembers either a yellow auto and a lemans blue 4spd comeing in at the same time and he and a friend taking the 4spd car for a spin and remembers roasting the tires on the highway at 55mph! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
This year at SCR 03 I am gonna try to get my grandpa to come out, so some of your Francis Yenko owners can fire some questions at him.
