There was a question about "the Assassin". I am looking thru boxes of magazines with Motion articles and can't believe how many there are. Motion cars have to be by far the most documented as far as original magazine articles thanks in part to Marty S. living down the street.
The Assassin was originally a 409 2x4 car but ran a 327 bored to 339 and had Z-11 front end. Wt was 3435 lb. and ran 12.10 at 114mph rear end was 1964 Olds with 5:86 gear. (Joe G you were right I thought it was a 283)

Joec,
Thanks for getting the bug and continuing the search. That was my original query, but I had a senior moment and substituted "Zul" for "Brown". I have many of those old east coast mags that seemed to have a Motion car article in every issue, but haven't tried to go through them all for Assassin articles.
It seems clear now that the car was not one of the few factory Z-11 cars, which was my main question. It would still be interesting to know what became of it though. Judging by the fairly strict definitions I've seen here, I doubt it would be considered a "Motion" car, but then I don't know just how much "prep" the Motion garage did on it.
Thanks again for the extra digging Joe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
I did email the magazine offices in CA to the attention of Marty, but just got an email reply telling me to call. I won't bother him till after the Reunion. Perhaps one of "us" who's going there could ask him about it, if there's an opportunity.
Verne.
