Three year, frame off, restoration completed about a year ago of a documented 650 total miles car. Details and resto pics at: www.69zl1.com (http://www.69zl1.com) No known discrepencies or problems. See attached photo.

Sincerely interested Buyers can email me for more pics/details to: [email protected] If all you're curious about is the price...The price is $275,000. For those that need to know why...I'm thinning the herd so I only need to use the 4-car trailer to participate in shows. I refuse to just cover and store my cars for months on end.

Hey Steve - hold that thought for a couple years....or would you trade for a 5'9" blonde - likes to cook and clean (very picky when cleaning cars), into classic cars and Vegas nights and is suprisingly low maintenance. She was walking around with me at the Reunion on Friday Night and Saturday...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

This Sunday marks 35 years with my wife and best friend. She's a tolerant and patient person, but I better pass.

Hi there folks... figured it was about time i got my own screename around here! I just thought i should add that Steve's ZL-1 also scored a 990 out of 1000, achieving a "Gold" certificate at the GM Nationals this spring. It also was awarded "Judges Choice-Best of Show" at the Camaro Superfest in Michigan this year, with a perfect scorecard. I have personally seen the extensive paperwork on this car, and have even had the unique opportunity to drive it a few 100 feet of those 666 miles. The car runs and drives as good as new! I will hate to see it go Steve! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

This car also scored a platinum certificate from the Worldwide Camaro Association at the Seattle All Chevy Show, the exact score escapes me for the moment..

OK Steve - but here's the deal, if you see her and I around don't mention the trade/offer - unless you want to see me trying to pick myself up off the floor.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

So Steve, what's the story on the engine that is currently in the car and is the whereabouts of the original engine known? I see the letter from Ed about the engine, is that the one that is in this car now?
Jeff

LVCamaro
09-03-2003, 02:33 PM
Jeff; I sent you a PM, but in short...the car had/has #42 engine when I bought it from John Barrett. it was either Ed C. or John B. that told me the engine story, but I honestly don't remember all the details. Perhaps John or Ed could chime in...

Ed Cunneen
09-03-2003, 05:29 PM
The #42 engine was included with the sale of the #49 ZL-1 Camaro to John. I was never able to locate the original engine for the #49 car.

Rick I understand, it was an honest "F-ing" mistake - there's a little joke in there for those of you who don't know my "bad" sense of humor... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Also - if I would have caused you to drop your beer I would have been very apologetic - that's alcohol abuse!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

Those guys at the srcap yard must have been using only half a brain. Save the engine and scrap the body?

The paperwork from Ed shows the #41 engine, not the #42 engine. So somebody still has #41 without its original engine? Steve, I wish I could buy your car. I'd trade my house for it and some cash, but I'd have to check with my brother since we went in on the house together. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Steve., I know you are trying to thin the heard, so I guess I could take it off your hands, not a Camaro guy...but in the interest of helping a fellow Bow-tie guy out, yada yada yada.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif or I could trade ya this old blue 66 and some cash...Though I am not sure how much cash I would need for ya to give me...we can work it out /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I'll have my people call your people.

Nice car, Love the Color!

There is Number #23 in its glory
I used to own ZL-1 #23 I dug it out of the hills of PA.
About 5 years ago or so. She was a rough car but now she looks great. I still have pictures of this car when we picked it up. It was sporting a Ford 9inch and lace paint and all. I know just about every part on this car and all its history. If anyone out there wants to know all about this car, feel free to contact me anytime via Email
[email protected] Or check out our Website at
WWWHeartbeatCity.net and email me there.

The car was in the Glenside, PA area, not too far from the original dealership - Lafferty Chev. in Warminster, PA. Both towns are suburbs of Philadelphia. Several locals remember that ZL1 sitting on the showroom floor for a while due to the expensive pricetag. Lafferty is still in business, same place, same building, my preferred supplier on my Yenko Deuce project!

----Many of us (who are old enough) saw ZL1s languishing on the showroom floor into the 70s. As revered as they are today it was hard to make a case for them when they were released.......Bill S

The same situation occurred with the 427 Cobras. The market was quickly saturated and dealers were trying to sell them years later, often for 1/2 the original price !Who could have predicted today's values !

Same with the superbird and Daytona's, I remember one in Holland growing up in the mid 70's driving around as an every day driver.. Dealers were stuck with them
