I was talking to Ron at Byron race track, anybody in the Chicago land area interested in going racing as a group. I was thinking of the end of Sept or first weekend of Oct. We can either go on Saturday or Sunday cost would be 25.00 a car we could run from 10am to 6 pm. Let me know so I can set something up.

Looks like you're right, Darren! Oh well, if that's the worst thing that he catches then he should be JUST FINE! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

The last time I went down the drag strip before this weekend was 1984 it was fun but not the same as a car that hooked and ran high 11s. I want to put a set of slicks on my ZL-1 and go there to race it not dog it down the track. Hopefully this doesnt start some kind of mid age crisis.

I've watched the tape from Friday about 20 times now, and you've definitely got some wheelspin issues in the white car! It sounded like Biele was having the same problem, though. It's there, fellas, you just have to work a little to get it to the ground!

Of course, Albert's LB Y-Camaro took wheelspin to a whole new level.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I know its there I really never planned on racing it. I still only was running about 34 degrees of total timing because I only run premium unlead ( im too cheap to pop for the good gas or octane booster). If I remember right bb like about 42 degrees of total timing. When I bought the car it had four flat exhaust lobes and all I did was change the cam. The best mph I ran was 98 if I remember right that should be a high 13 time. I belive with some test and tune time the car could run 13.60s with some new tires the ones on there now are at least 12 years old. I think it would be better to spend my time on the ZL-1 I think high 11s is possible with a set of slicks at least it has a scater shield. The ZL-1 has A solid roller cam Headers complete msd ignition balanced blueprinted and a Doug Nash 5 speed.

Yeah, the BBC's like lots of timing, but unless you're running slicks it's only good for smoke shows. The L-72 now in the Camaro liked 40 degrees on the dyno, while the previous engine liked 39. But, I had to crank it back to 34 degrees just so it could get moving, and that's when it went 12.44@112. Now, if I was on stickies, I'd crank it back up! That's typical "Pure Stock" thinking...usually backwards of what normal race cars do!
