Finally we have proof of the Yenko finned aluminum valve covers existance. Check out the engine compartment pics dated 1/97.

Is this Chevelle a legit car?
I think this story is BS. The date on the camera looks like it was done with PSP or Photoshop, the periods are too square and pixilated. Additionally it looks like it has a SUN Super Tach II which would not be original for a 69 car sold new. I think the VC were added, maybe when the motor was freshened up. It may be a real Yenko, but not everything here is as it was when sold new.

I think the 1/1/97 is the default date on the camera. Where would you see trees in full green in January, in the northern hemisphere /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Thanks for pointing that out. I was just trying to authenticate the valve covers. I was lucky enough to find some NOS like them on Ebay. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It looks to be Jerry Janota's old car, Nankivell Chev. sold it new, optioned as a/t, am, v/t, r/a, bus, & p/s. Car must have been recently repainted, I thought it was red for many years.

Marlin,
Are you sure it came from Nankivell? Ed C doesn't show any Chevelles sold there. By the way, have you found anything on the Nankivell, dk green, auto Deuce I told you about?

...Has anyone looked closely at the shifter?
....Is it "straight"....or "curved"
....I believe the "curved" is correct....but I could be wrong???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Janota told me it was from Nankivell, but that wasn't set in stone, although I show 3 Yenko Chevelles being sold from Nankivell. The car could very well have come from some of the other Yenko Dealers in IN, or been dealer traded to Nankivell at some point prior to the initial purchase. I know that Gates Chev. sold '69 Yenko cars(3 Chevelles sold, including an HO car!)in Mishawaka, IN and South Bend, IN , as did Pate Chev. and Max Conner in Roanake, IN.
I have come up empty on that a/t FG deuce from Nankivell!

I talked to the orignal owner of George Lyons Yenko Chevelle at Pigeon Forge last week and he told me that they did sell some Yenko Chevelles at Nankivell. He said they had a couple on the lot but he opted to buy the Yellow one at another dealership, it may have been Gates Chevy but I cannot remember for sure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
