I may be wrong here, but this guy claims orig engine, has a Oct build date with a cast date of April 70.?? (don't know if that date is the heads or block) but either way, seems like something ain't stirring the kool aid here.

When did the use of X-codes cease? Should one be designated on this trim tag.

My '69 BM Camaro is a 10E build and is stamped X22D80, so looks like they used them up to the end of the production year.

Clill,
Wouldn't the trim tag you posted be very close to the start of the use of the X-codes.

Stefano, the "X" codes started December 1968 I believe in the second week.

So whats with the 05A Camaro with no X code? Just a fluke i would guess... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Never saw a Norwood car built after December 68 without one... until now!

Stephano...Mine is a later car and I'm not sure why there is no X code. It is just a plain Convert that has been around here for Years so I don't think it is a made up Tag.... Oh wait..I think this is one of the Ultra Rare "Mickey" Camaro's... Kind of a cross between a Motion and a Nickey.. Mickey Chevrolet was a very secret High Performance Dealer that had a inside Track with Chevrolet. They were so Secret Chevy built their Cars with no X code and put All Aluminum 540" Engines in them. The orig Engine is gone but I was standing in line at a 7-11 and overheard two People talking about a Mickey Engine that one of them had under a work bench. Turns out this 7-11 is in the same Town my Mickey came from so I think I might be onto the Orig Engine. One of the Guys was the Service Manager at Mickey from 66-till 71 when they closed the doors. The Service Department removed the Engine from the car when the owner complained that the car was "Just too Dammed Fast". They replaced it with one of their slower ZL1 Engines and the Owner was then Happy.

Clill,
That is very interesting and timely info, as a Yellow Mickey Camaro Convertible is being used in the new TV Series Las Vegas /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Is that your car and which engine did they use?

COPO,
Thanks for the info.

Oh, yes... i remember now... Didn't Mickey join up with Motion Performance in the mid 70s to create a series of VW based dune buggies called Motion/Mickey Minnie Cars? It was a Goofy project. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Then the latest 2002 Motion Camaros from Berger Chevrolet must be a "Merger" of Motion and Berger. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
