Interesting.......the car is listed in Mountion Home AR. The young guy at Vette Fest that bought Stefano's Nickey 02 ZL1 is based out of there with his "business" selling rare cars. I forgot his name though.

Mountain Home, AR...now there's a familiar place! Just over an hour south of here, and little bro commutes to/from the local college there twice a week. The dealer is TRM (http://www.mtnhmweb.com/trmclassiccars.asp), but as many times as I've been to Mountain Home I've never been there...sounds like time for a road trip! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Chris Brannon is the owner of TRM & a great guy. Fair & very honest. I believe this 70 Chevelle is sold.

Just to clarify, the '02 ZL1 that TRM bought had the letters "NICKEY" on the side, but, it was not officially authorized by the holder of the Nickey trademark, so, it shouldn't be referred to as a "Nickey" Camaro. I know that may be splitting hairs, and, I don't want to come off as haughty about the Nickey name, but, just putting stickers on a car doesn't make it a "real" car. Cool car. It's just not an '02 Nickey Camaro.

Hey Frank,I think he is talking about your Chevelle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Seriously, that Survivor L34 1970 Chevelle was owned by Bill Ockerlund in Michigan for some time now.
And before that Steve,68L30,Knows they guy that bought it previously.I know MadManMatt was offering it for sale here last April.Bill told me it could be bought for 40K,but I & a few others was not interested.
He also mentioned that this Chevelle was built with Black stripes, but the owner had them removed,& then reapplied years later over the Lacquer paint.
It does look pretty, but I wish it had Factory Gauges.

Just noticed the build sheet shows it was shipped to Crivelli Chevrolet in McKees Rocks, PA. Crivelli Chevrolet is alive and well today and is only a stone's throw from downtown Pittsburgh. They used to sponsor a 69 Camaro drag car back in the day and apparently sold quite a few hi-perf units. I guess you could say they still do as there are a pair of Z06 'Vettes sitting in their showroom right now, about the only hi-perf Chevy left. Glad to see an old "Steel City" Chevelle is alive and well...probably a result of it not spending too much time on these salty PA roads. McKees Rocks isn't exactly what you'd call an upscale neighborhood these days, just an old run down steel town suburb. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if this was originally some Pittsburgh steel worker's pride and joy. Who knows, it may have even tangoed with some sYc cars from "Washington County's largest Chevrolet dealer." I doubt it's seen much action though, looks like it's been shown TLC since day one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

From what I recall the first owner is still around and bought two Chevelles. The other was a LS-6 that was sold just prior to this one...I was going to look at other NOS parts he bought when he had the Chevelles...

Rick Mike WAS NOT refering to my car. He was refering to the X Stefano Bimbi 02 ZL1#60.

Yes I do personally have a couple of Nickey decals on my car but I don't EVER recall representing my car as a Chevelle that was originally sold out of Nickey Chevrolet. As a matter of fact I think most members on this site might be sick of hearing me making refrences of my Chevelles original selling dealer Orville Nerhus Chevrolet in Lakefield, MN. When my car is displayed at a cruise night or show a copy of the build sheet is always displayed on the dashboard facing the windshield for all to view clearly stating this. The only reason that I have the Nickey Chevrolet stuff on my car is because I thnk that it is cool that they were actually in my area. You wouldn't believe all the storys and cool info that I have been told about Nickey Chevrolet since I have done this.

OK, I'm a little slow. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif So Orville Nerhus is a 'for real' dealership? I thought it was something you and Rick dreamed up in some alcohol induced stupor. No offense Orville but that's not one of your everyday household names! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That was a real dealership that my car was sold new through in Minnesota.

Oh and Orville is a household name! What about the popcorn guy Orville Redenbocker or what ever his name is! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I would like to find out more about the LS6 Companion to this Chevelle. Please PM me if you know anymore details from before.

I know Frank,,I was just busting yours a bit.No offense my friend. You never claim your Chevelle to be an Authentic Nickey car.We should start a new topic..The Most unusual/odd/bizarre dealership names you have ever heard of.
Orvlle Nerhus has to be up there.

-----From my 10 years living in Hinsdale, working part of that time for Jack D,I used to see alot of Nickey decals on cars.Loads of guys out there know all about Nickeys history as one of the highest of the high perf dealers, and I think it was looked upon as cool by a certain segment to claim Nickey heritage when there wasnt any.As if you would gain some horsepower by saying so.I know you arent doing anything like that,Frank, but it was almost standard practice back then!..........Bill S

Yeah, Orville is as common as "Frank". It's the Nerhus that gets me. Kinda like Magallon. How the hell do you pronounce that anyway??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Why don't you guys have normal names like me? (Everybody knows the little green clay dude!) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Dennis I have not recieved any mail as of yet. I think that all the paperwork will go to each individual address. I have registered with a club for the last 6 years and my paperwork always ended up at my house.

Gettin' kinda personal, aren't we? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Actually Pokey is still around (in his own way) and appears from time to time at some of the major car shows. Since the Glue market has pretty much faded away, when his 'time' came, we contacted Meguiar's. Have you ever used their Detailing Clay Bar???? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
