I would appreciate any and all direct, candid and brutally honest feedback on this car on ebay if you are familiar with it, the seller, or the owner. Thanks

The paperwork seems to back it up but I am no expert.
It is a beautiful car but it has the famous upside down/inverted cowl induction hood seal /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif .

I would like to see the Engine Stamping with no Paint on it. I don't see any type of Smog and the SS Center Caps appear to be the shallow Replacement ones. Neat Options and Paperwork.

Take a look at the rear stripes,it is hard to tell by the picture, but they look too close together, also, the drivers side of the hood seems to stick up quite a bit.

Yep, a black on black LS-6 Chevelle is a killer combo. In fact, there's one that runs at the Pure Stock event every year...I think high 12s or low 13s? Anyway, this car REALLY put on quite a show this year! It did a 360 at about the 1/8 mile mark, which means it was probably doing 80mph or better! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Check it out:

[Note: it's a geocrappies picture, so you'll probably have to cut and paste the link into your address bar.]

The needles on the dash guages seem to be too red to be original. If i'm not mistaken, they should be more orange.

I agree with you skierkaj....dash looks like repro. I believe you can call GM of canada and get documentation on the car. Alot of Canada cars with no US Build sheets lately.

I would also make sure what the seller is claiming.
such as: This is the original block with vin code stamped on it? Those are the original heads, intake, carb, factory dash, etc.
3.31's with a 4spd? how many people ordered that combo?
"Take a look at the rear stripes,it is hard to tell by the picture, but they look too close together"
I agree
3.31 w/4 speed was VERY common rear for LS-6 cars.
Anyone know why he ended his auction early?
His excuse says an "error in the reserve amount",or did he sell off to the side to anyone we know.
Nick L.?
It is my understanding the car sold for 54k. Quite a good deal for the car, if it all checked out like advertised. BTW Rick...still haven't heard from you yet about your buildsheet..I will soon be posting about some interesting L78/LS6 data and would like to include your info.
Greg
Please take this subject to Email.

Hi Greg,
Did you end up selling your LS6? I remember seeing your classified ad earlier. Sounded like a neat car...I live in the area where the car served as a demo....

anybody seen this vin Chevelle ? Fathom Blue LS6, M22, Parchment int. I would like it back.
I actually still have the car. I've had a few people throw out dollar amounts, but nothing that would make me jump to sell it. Most people that call are "tire kickers," or are just curious about its' history which is cool (the history seeking people that is..). It is sort of amusing though as I keep hearing about the lack of quality cars for sale in the marketplace, especially LS6's. When one (mine or another such as Chad's) comes up, people have a hard time "pulling the trigger." They are usually the same people though that buy inferior cars because they feel they are saving money somehow, only to spend more in the long run, or take a beating when they sell them. If I had a dollar for everyone that said "oh, it's green?" I'd probably be buying Kevin S.'s collection now..lol
Truthfully the green LS6 is a really cool car. I don't think (to my knowledge at least) that you can find another LS6 (hell maybe even a solid lifter Chevrolet musclecar) that you can actually call and speak to the zone rep that ordered the car. Also with each day that goes by I'm steadly documenting the "pilot" status as well. Big thanks to guys like Jim M., Rick N., Chris W., and others for helping with the aspects of the car. Hell, I might be somewhat going out on a limb here, but as of now, it is the earliest documented LS6 in existence AND the 1st true production LS6, so if it stays in the garage it isn't going to hurt me in one bit.
I actually was looking over your pics yesterday and think you have one sweet car as well. It is nice to see others that realize that "color" isn't such a big deal to provence and documentation/originality.

I still remember when I bought my LS6 in the middle of winter (car was in Connecticut) all of the groaning on the Chevelles.com chat boards about why the guy would price the car so low, blah blah blah. There were a few serious bidders which I beat out on the car, but there was a huge peanut gallery of vocal people complaining that someone might steal the car. The seller responded, "what are you offering for the car?" Of course this was met with silence. It's sad, because the car is a honey of an LS6 with a great history and great documentation. I find whenever supercars or "almost-supercars" go on the block, there are a lot of casually interested folks who never pull the trigger, but they ask a lot of questions, collect a lot of pictures and complain a lot. At least the cars appreciate while you wait to sell it. Good luck Greg...
