That poor `vert! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I know of a `57 `vert locally that is (was?) in similar condition, but I haven't seen it in nearly 20 years...it's stashed waaaaay in the back of a long-forgotten junkyard. As far as I know, it's still there, but I'd hate to think of what it looks like now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Actually, there were quite a few valuable relics rotting away in that yard, but I'm not too keen on going back there anytime soon....why?...think..."Deliverance" (as in, the movie) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Sure hope someone saves those cars.

A guy in my area restored a 55 convert that he hauled to his house on flat bed trailer in two separate pieces, now it is in a museum up north, then another guy one county away has had this 55 convert for as long as I can remember, it used to sit next to a well traveled road and people worried him to death about it, and it was in good shape then, so he moved way back off the road, up a dirt road that looked like a logging road to a small mechanics garage, and pulled it in the weeds, and it has been there every since, what a shame! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

There is a fellow here in Wisconsin named Freddie Olson that can make that car look like it just came off the showroom floor! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Not the convertible, but I would tackle restoring the 2 door Belair hartop sitting in the shed though! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

My dad bought a 56 Belair convertible with the continental kit on it, brand new in 1956 for $2,600. What I wouldn't give to still see my dad driving it today! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
