I have been in the market for a 1969 Camaro for a while now and I have been wondering if someone could answer my question. In 1968 the Camaro came with a rear panel that had the reverse lights in the bottom of the bumper. Then in 1969 Chevrolet changed the location of the reverse lights to inside the rear brake lights and did away with the reverse lights at the bottom of the panel. Now to the question. If I stumble across a 1969 Camaro with a rear panel with the reverse lights located on the bottom of the panel is that an early production 1969 car, or is it a 1969 Camaro with a 1968 rear panel?

Thanks.

The backup lights under the bumper is part of the rally sport package.

The only time the reverse lights would be in the lower section of the rear tail panel is if the car is equipped with the Rally sport option (hidden headlights). This holds true for all 67's. 68's and 69's.
