1. How hard would it be to take of a vynal roof an a 69 Camaro, And replace it with a hard top?

2. Would it be possable for a 69 Camaro to be fitted with one of then 68 hideaway headlight grilles?

As far as removing the 69 Camaro vinyl top, there are a few tasks required.

1) - Remove windshield and back glass moldings.
2) - Remove moldings that run along the side of the roof and around the back below the rear glass.
3) - Not sure if you will need to remove the front and back glass????
4) - Peel off vinyl.
5) - You will need to remove the adhesive from the roof.
6) - Remove clips and/or fill holes where vinyl top molding was.
7) - Prep and paint roof section as normal.

Don't know about the compatability of the 68/69 hideaway grills.

Hope this helps.

Be prepared for steps 4-6, this is no small undertaking. I would not recommend this procedure on a car that wasn't already in need of paint and bodywork, as you'd be surprised at the hog's mess that is typically hiding under an old vinyl top. Be ready to find rust and other hidden boogers beneath that old vinyl. Vinyl tops are notorious for holding moisture, and rotting out window channels and even entire roof skins in some instances. This is particularly true on cars that sat outdoors or in harsh climates. Good luck on getting rid of that vinyl, be patient, and expect to spend twice what you'd think to do it right, JMO.

A couple more things on the vinyl top. The rear piece of vinyl top molding has two clips that are attached from inside the trunk area. You can see them in the open trunk toward the corners. Also, the top itself isn't that hard to peel off but it does leave a mess behind. You will most likely have to do some additional bodywork to the roof seams. They were not finished very well on vinyl top cars.

Actually just had my kid's 67 coupe converted from a vinyl top to hard top. When its done right the results are exceptional.

The 68 RS lights will not fit 69 fenders.
