Rich have you found out any history on your car yet? Have you restored it or is it still like the vintage pics show?

Rich,

Since you have just started the restoration process LAST MONTH (as evidence by your post), do you think you are going to keep the "day 2" theme or go back stock? While a lot of people might say go back stock, I for one think the "day 2," look would be really cool on this car. It isn't too often that we see "panel paint," on one of these cars, and with the ever growing "day 2 movement," it might be something to think about.

That excedes day2. Thats full out, got my war paint on, gonna kick your a$$ and make you like it paint. Leave it. Its a statement, and an art form, and it's way cool. Schonye /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I am going to keep the paint scheme as a "Day 2". but my problem is that it needs to be painted and it is hard to find an "artist" these days to reproduce the tappestry. It also needs some sheet metal work since the last owner thought that you "can" drive Drunk and you "can" drive through telephone poles with 500HP at you foot.

The good news is if I can get the car back to Idaho, the orginal painter is still around and is willing to try and duplicate the paint. The car is on the east coast now.

Rich, The guy that painted my Z/28 has been around a long time. We, at one point were going to paint tappestery in my white stripes. He has done this alot in the old days. Maybe he would be worth a call. He may have some good ideas. Does fancy paint work for the street rod boys. (Reasonable) Located near Harleysville, Pa. 45 minutes from Philly. His name is Courtney Nelson (215)679-6305 Good luck! Sam

The fellow that painted the latice on the Arnie Beswick GTO a few years ago did a great job. I believe he did the original work on the car, also. I'm sure sixtiesmuscle would have his name. If not, I can get it.
