Thanks Marlin.....I'll be there, but I am certain they won't let me run in the Factory Stock class!!

Since some of you are signed up, I was wondering if anyone knew how they planned to classify the factory stock class cars? I know they're planning to run heads-up, but there must be classes planned. I would guess it's advertised horsepower to weight ratio. (boy, those Z-28s would have an advantage!). Anybody know?

By the way, I asked a few questions regarding "subtle" changes from stock. The rules for automatic trans cars state "no aftermarket shifters", but there's no such mention for 4-speeds. Turns out, a Hurst (if not factory) is acceptable. They also said I could leave the old Sun tach up on the dash, as well as the S/W gauges I put in the dash and the custom steering wheel.

Verne.

If it's like every other PS/SA race there wil be no classes other than Factory Stock and F.A.S.T., and those will be best 2of3 with *at most* the quick-8 of each running a bracket...some events run the 8 quickest in a bracket and let the rest of the field run 2of3, others just do the 2of3. In the 2of3, the cars are just paired up via qualifying ETs and run best 2of3.

Whatever................................ The more runs I have, the more fun I have, whether I win or lose.
Just didn't want to go through all that trouble then lose the first one and be done for the day.

Thanks
Verne.

If it's like the rest of the FS/FAST events there will be open time trials for most of the day, and you're qualifying time will come from your quickest run during the time trials. Then, you'll either be paired up via closest ETs or thrown into the quick-8 if there is one. I'm not for sure if this event has the track to itself, but these events generally do, and you can literally run until you break, if your so inclined...

Me neither, but look forward to the event. I need to take some more notes from COPO Pete - but my cam swap is well underway http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just thought I'd mention there were some nice comments recognizing Casey, Rob and Tom and others in the editorial in the current Musclecar Enthusiast mag. Some mention of the F.A.S.T. drags, the new modified class that's being worked on and a link to this site for more info. I didn't know that some here were so closely involved in the program.
Congrats to the guys who are working hard on this and the press directed this way.
I'm really looking forward to the event. (I just hope I have time to "undo" some of the non-stock stuff on my car so I can participate)
