You can buy them brand new from places like Summit Racing or take your chances with used or rebuilt. You can also buy a really nice Tremec 6sp just like the late model camaros and vipers have.

There's a seller on eBay named "jetboatbill" that rebuilds trannys. A buddy of mine bought a beautifully rebuilt '69 M-22 from him and he shipped it in a press-wood box. You could eat off of the box and the tranny. Also, you can have a "new" M-22 built using those new gears made in Italy. Don't know more than that but I think they make new, stronger Muncie-style cases too.
