I was looking through some old photos and came across a couple that I thought you guys might like to see , excuse the quality but until I get my scanner sorted I'm taking digi pics of old photographs.
A good friend of mine owned this car back around 83/84 , it was allegedly left behind by a US Serviceman .
1966 Impala L72 4speed , bucket seats with console and full gauge package , in dash 7000 tach ,black on black only power option was brakes . It was very original when he got it , as I remember the only non original items were the Keystone wheels , chrome air cleaner and headers . It would pull real strong with the factory intake and Holley but used to run out of steam around 5800 rpm .Before you get alarmed by the pics , he was very careful to preserve the originality of the car . Had a local guy lay him up some fibreglass bumpers and hood in black gel coat , we put a tunnel ram on it and it would've revved itself to oblivion if you'd let it , he got it down to high 12's which was a pretty impressive thing to see .He stopped racing it when he noticed the chassis starting to fracture just ahead of where it kicks up over the rear end .He sold it to another local guy and it disappeared off the scene , I spoke to him recently and he heard it got shipped back to the US about 6-7 years ago http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif . I've got some more pics somewhere , post 'em as and when I find 'em.

He also owned this a couple of years earlier , I remember he had a devils own job to get £5000 (approx $10000 then) for it .
