Would you mind try putting the sun to your back and get a little closer to the car about where it just fills the view finder then take a step or two back till you can just see daylight around it on all sides and be sure that your shadow is not across the side of the car in the shot. That way we can all see it in pretty good detail. Your pic's are from too far away. Nothing wrong with them but it is too hard to make out the details of the car. Great shot of the highway though.

You want to be sure where the sun is shinning on the car to give it better light on that side for a great picture. What you see through the view finder is what you will have. Take your time and look at what you are shooting before you do and you will have great pic's. Sometimes you have to move the car to the other side of the street to get enough light to make it show up good. I am anxious to see the car closer so that is why I am telling you this not to dis your photo ability. Looks like a neat car from what I can see so far.

I am glad that you were not upset by my suggestions. They are some that I learned the hard way myself. My only problem is that that was back in 1972 and the pic of my 70 Baldwin motion vette are too far away and I used a polaroid which don't offer much to show the car and now I would give anything to find better pic of my cars from back then. If only I had been able to learn this from a forum like this then I would not have a pic like this one that you can just barely tell what the car is. Live and learn. I just wanted to try to help you not make the mistakes I made way back then. Glad you took it in a good way. Digital cameras offer the ability to get better pic that ever before. I am looking forward to seeing the new pic you take. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, that B-17 was a VFW war memorial that was first put on display in the 1950s. Since day one vandals and scavengers have taken damn near everything of value out of the airplane. The airplane was moved to the Tulare airport several years ago and placed in a more secure display. I seriously doubt it will ever fly again but you never know. I fly the west coast alot and I've seen the polished skin of the Tulare B-17 from 33,000 feet up on a sunny day.

As for the blue COPO, what a great car. I prefer the steel wheels with the hubcaps but it is nice to have an alternate set of wheels for a change of look. I'll bet it's fun to wring it out on those valley farm roads eh?

427TJ.... vandals sure did a job on it. my brother says the first thing that happened to it was the motors got sold and traded for some junkers, it had new rebuilds when it landed here nobody seems to know how that happened.I forgot to add its not to safe where its at right now. its been hit twice by people coming off the freeway ramp to fast.
I didn't even see that darn cat under there i know what she was up to she was going jump on the car when i turned my back if she did that there would have been a rat chasing a cat across the yard http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Yeah Eddie, I heard that a semi ran off the ramp and slammed into the B-17 a few years ago and knocked the airplane off it's hold-downs.

Sorry guys, let's get back to cars!

Yes it is. I am working on a new web page for it so that I can share it with everybody. I bought it in Mar of 74 and it only has 15,200 mi on it now. Motor has a rod tapping from running FTD at Hallett Motor raceway at a SCCA autocross. This is a bad pic of it but here it is toping the hill coming on the back straight. Should not have put such sticky tires on it. Ran it out of oil I guess? It had a LS-6 in it when I got it after the 2nd owner overheated the original LS-7 that Joel sold it with. Those motors don't like Dallas traffic. Either I had not put enought miles on it to have it broke in good or it ran out of oil.

I want to build it back with a LS-7 but the LS-6 that is in it now is more than enough to satisify anybody.

That is pure Motion workmanship. I took that pic back in '78. I love that car. Actually I love both of them equally. Here is a bigger pic of it.

Hey Larry, the shifter in that thing.. Did you add that or was it in there when you bought it? Never seen a curved Hurst bar like that in a Vette.

That is the way it came. I had a few come through Super Cars when I ran the lot but most were the short straight one's. never paid much attention to it but I like it better than the staight ones. Less chance of missing 3 rd.

Don't you know that it is kinda hard to lean forward to shift to 3rd in that rocket ship. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
