35 years ago today, the original owner of my Chevelle took delivery of it. I was at her house earlier today (she and her husband live only 2 blocks away from me http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif) and she gave me a bunch of old pictures of the car. Attached is one of the car in front of her parents' garage (she was still single and living at home at the time).

Here she is in the fall of 68 with the 62 Impala SS that she traded in on the Chevelle. Note that it is also black with black interior and white conv. top - she must have liked that color combo http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the kind words. Actually, she does not have any type of performance or collector car today. Every time I talk with her though she makes me swear on a stack of Bibles that she gets first chance at it if or when I sell it. Her brother is into Vettes and Camaros and he has an '02 Z06 Vette, but it is bright blue.

And here is the happy family bringing home the new bundle of joy. The daughter got married last July and I was supposed to get the car down there for the wedding, but due to all the craziness at the last minute, they forgot to get me the directions! We rescheduled the reunion for next Spring.

Bill that is freakin awesome!! Congrats! IMO there is nothing more cool than getting vintage pics of your car!

njsteve those are also very cool pics of your car as well!

Rita, closer please.......I need to see more detail....

Here is a "vintage" pic of my 86 Monte Carlo SS taken circa spring 1986 when new with the original owner. I was lucky enough for him to have given me about 50 vintage pics of the car when I contacted him. If I only had pics of my Chevelle when new...(note the Super Bowl XX shirt with our champion ship Chi Town Bears!)

Vintage pictures are great. We just had some of our parents old home movies converted to a dvd for Christmas and one of them showed an old Ford Anglia drag car sitting on a trailer after a crash at Atco. It had some Torq Thrusts on it and I think it was around 1966 or 67. The guy was racing with my dad's engine in the car so my dad kept a real close eye on the car after the crash.

This is a picture of the lady and husband and daughter that I just bought my 69 LM1 Camaro from when it was new. She is still alive and in good health and lives in San Jose Cal, she moved their only a few months after buying the Camaro. I also have a picture of her near the car when they were loading it on the truck to come to me. Notice the trim rings on the wheels, I have only seen them in books and pictures never on a car from new. This car has disc brakes and the small 14x6 wheels so that may be what prompted the trim rings. The car still almost looks as good. http://fototime.com/043D1684C99D284/standard.jpg

Here is a day two picture of an 87 Monte Carlo Aero Coupe that I bought from a woman who said her dad gave her the car. The picture was from a magazine her dad was in. The car had a 500 hp Supercharged 350 with 20 lb bottle of nitrous in the trunk. She said her dad had a shop that was well known for building Supercars in the 60s out in Baldwin LI. Sounded like a BS story to me but I bought it anyway.

Darren,

No, actually that's the east side of Aurora, where she lived with her parents at the time. They all moved to North Aurora since that time. That neighborhood in Aurora is now such that, as Frank would say, you want to carry large caliber weapons while visiting - and you'd want to visit there driving an M1 Tank http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Here's a pic that was taken of my black Judge circa 1979 in Black Mountain, North Carolina in front of the original owners house. It's great to talk to previous owners. What's great is that is how the cr looked when I got it. The owner added the trim rings and a Sun tach to it as well when it was new.

In the back ground the 69 Chevelle has a black stripe that is up too high to be a SS stripe... could it be a Yenko stripe?
