OVER THE YEARS I HAVE SEEN A 67 CAMARO OFF OF A MAIN HIWAY IN MY AREA PARKED IN A FIELD NEXT TO A BARN I NOTICED IT HAD HIDDEN HEADLIGHTS AND WAS PAINTED BLUE WITH WHITE STRIPES. IT HAD BEEN SITTING THERE FOREVER AND NO ONE COULD EVER FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET TO IT BECAUSE OF IT BEING SOO FAR AWAY FROM THE EXIT. THEN FINALLY ONE DAY A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE THAT DOES ALOT OF CAMARO HUNTING SPENT MOST OF THE DAY AND FINALLY FOUND IT!!! SO HE LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE MAIL BOX AND NOBODY RETURNED A CALL. SO ABOUT A MONTH LATER HE FIGURED HE WOULD GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY. THIS TIME SOMEONE WAS THERE!!!! HE TALKED TO THE MAN AND ASKED IF THE CAMARO WAS FOR SALE THE MAN REPLIED ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! HIS WIFES PARENTS BOUGHT IT NEW, SO MY BUDDY ASKED IF HE COULD AT LEAST TAKE A LOOK AT IT THE MAN WAS HESITANT AT FIRST,BUT FINALLY SAID OK,SO WHEN HE WALKED AROUND THE CORNER THE CAR LOOKED LIKE A RS SO HE POPED OPEN THE HOOD AND ALMOST PASSED OUT WHEN HE SEEN THE COWL-PLENUM AIR-CLEANER!!!! THEN HE CHECKED SOME OF THE #S ON THE BLOCK AND THE FIREWALL #S AND SEEN IT WAS A Z!!! THE SAD PART IS THAT THE CAR IS RUSTING AWAY AND IS NOT FOR SALE!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Another story about a good car that rotted away.

Do us all a favor and unlock your Caps. Makes your post easier to read. Thanks.

What a RARE and sad story. Reminds me of another story we are all too well informed about, the 69 Camaro Yenko rotting away. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I guess you have to just hang in there. I just bought a rare car, and it seems as if several people attempted to buy the car before the person I bought it from did (man that was a lot of words). Anyway, everyone was surprised when the car was sold, and I was lucky that the person that bought it was only looking to flip it for a small profit when he decided to start a new project.

The key I assume is to keep up with the owner without being a pest. And if I knew how to do that, I would have that Yenko! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You might try visiting with a ice cold 12 pack in one hand and a big order of BBQ ribs in the other. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

there is a pretty good site to check out, though it can be a little depressing. www.carsinbarns.com (http://www.carsinbarns.com)
they have postings from all of the US of rotting muscle cars just sitting and rusting while the owners have good intentions of restoring their cars. tough stuff. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
