More information needed of course, but if it is basically rust-free and has no damage history I'd 'guesstimate' such a car in the 10K to 15K range. JUST A WAG. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

WAG = Military aviator's term meaning a Wild-Assed-Guess. See also: T-LAR = That Looks About Right. (Usually followed by "Bombs away.")

If it is orig metal and no rust and all there, more like 15/20, try to find a nice one, the tirds are selling in that range unless you get lucky.

Thanks, I just needed a range, Havent been checking the prices on the 67's lately, but am getting the bug to get one. In my business, which is contruction, I always get people asking for a ballpark guess, I tell them that Camden Yards cost around 200 million http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif and If you want to guess you should call a fortune teller because I dont guess..Funny, that reminds me of one time about 10 years ago, I have a billboard I put in front of my office building for our company, we only needed the top half so I cut the bottom up into 2x3 foot sections and rent sign space. A fortune teller come in and asks how much..we all break out laughing and tell him that if he was for real he would already know..he couldnt get out the door fast enough...Thats one of those"you had to be there things"
Again, thanks for the opinions...

here is a link to a pretty nice one I have been tracking, it appears they may be moving up a notch with the other cars in price. I suspect his reserve is up around 25 I may be wrong??

Yeah, I was looking at that gold ss-rs myself. Since its eBay, I'd be willing to guess the reserve is closer to $35K.

eBay has completely distorted the price of 1st gen Camaros. A while ago it looked like they were beginning to come back to earth, now they seem to have run up in the other direction.

I guess the truth of the matter is its worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

We can comment all we want on what is wrong or incorrect with a car and how it will hurt the value, but in the end it comes down to whether the buyer is happy with what he pays for the car. I bought a 68 Camaro from a guy in OK off Ebay a couple of month ago and I think I got a great deal and I'm happy with the car. It seems that a 67-69 Camaro with a solid body, decent paint and good running drivetrain is worth $10-15K. Start adding in the desirable options like RS, SS, Z28, 4 speed, etc. and the price goes up accordingly. The only thing that runs up the prices on Camaros is the demand for them.

I agree with you, I think EBAY is deceiving though, you will see many of the same cars being relisted over and over again if you keep track of them...I wonder how many of these actually are selling and for what price...Lots of smoke and mirrors too, I was bidding on a car and the last 2 minutes a guy is running the price up drasticly. I was trying to figure out what was so special about this car that someone would overpay so much, I then checked out some old e-mails the seller and his buddy were sending me and realized that it was the owners buddy who was running the price up..glad I stopped when I did. He wound up selling the car to himself. Originally I had a verble agreement with the guy to buy the car and he was suppose to remove it from the auction before he left on a vacation, he didnt do it and it was listed no reserve so I was trying to keep the deal intact by bidding but once it went over the original deal price I said screw it. Im sure the guy will be calling when he gets back but I already found a different car for my Son. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Thanks for that ebay link! That car is very similar to the RS/SS I just found (and bought). Same color, same engine, mine has gold deluxe interior, powerglide, and drum brakes, all original numbers match.

the car in the link looks like a honest car and the surrounding where the pictures were taken look clean,

I think that it is a very nice car and if a person was looking for a nice '67 to play with and have a solid investment I would have it inspected by now and bought if I was looking, as far as e-bay there are plenty of cars to sift through but some nice ones come through and you usually can tell them apart.

That gold car is pretty nice, but with 80,000+ miles, I think he'll be hard pressed to get $30K for a small block. I have a friend with a '67 SS396/325 car,4 speed, Tahoe, parchment deluxe, tach/guages, tilt, am/fm and rear speaker. Every piece of paper since new, 24,000 miles, every number matches etc. The car sat in a barn for years until a previous owner pulled it out and did a frame off on it. All original metal with no rust ever! $32K is his asking price. It is stored for the winter and I will buy in the iSpring when he gets it out if I haven't spent all of my "car fund" before then. If I don't have the space or money at that time, I'll have to pass - so let me know if anyone is seriously interested. Please, serious only as this is a good friend of mine and I don't want to waste his time (or mine for that matter) http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

Mark,
your friends car sounds nice, but the point I was making is finding a nice '67 RS/SS 350 car intact, and unmolested is getting as diffacult as any other rare muscle car, especially with all the correct dated parts still on it from new, comparing a big block non RS car to this car is not the same.

Bud, are you saying a big block SS is not as "rare" or desirable as an small block RS/SS? Like I said, it's a nice car, but he'll never get $30K for it today - that was the point I was making. I think he might get $25K tops.

I never said that a BB car was not desirable,

I said comparing the two is not the same and that is the truth, what he gets for it who knows?? I have my feelings on what it may sell for and will just watch and see what happens.

You're right a few thousand Big blocks versus 29,000 small blocks...hardly the same. So, how much do you think it will go for? My guess is it will only bid to $18,400 and will not meet the reserve http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Jeff H

Good guess! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I can't imagine too many small block RS/SS cars going much higher unless it has a lot of documentation.

I don't want to start a dog fight guys, when you are out looking at other cars for sale online, at dealers etc...

take notice of how few nice RS/SS 350 cars you run across, you will not see many, yes you will see the attempt at a fake car like everything else we look at and yes they made a ton of them but most of them are gone, a true number matching nice car is worth a few bucks. I dont think the guy is out of line asking and takeing 25 for the car maybe a little more if he has interesting paper with the car, show me some comparables at less money, I have not seen one lately.

I was waiting for you to chime in,lol, you car is worth a few bucks as well!,seriously everyone likes to look down on the SB cars because they are not Z's or BB powered etc...,try and find one that is correct, they are my first Love and to locate a nice one is almost as difficult as any other rare car,

Bud, I certainly don't look down on a SB car...in fact, I was watching the auction on the gold car before it was ever posted here because I had an interest in it. I think you are taking my (our) thoughts on the monetary value of the car in question as a judgement on how cool the small block cars are in general - absolutely not! Frankly, if that was an RS/SS 396/325 car in exactly that same shape with 88,000 miles I don't think it would bring $30K. If it was a low mile car - maybe $25Kish at this point, but an L48 would need to be really special to bring $30K.

I'd love to own Denis' new car. Put a new paint job on her and a little detailing and she would be sweet. The L48's are much more streetable than a Z or L78. He got a great deal on it, but there have been others on ebay that weren't too different for far less than $20K.

So take it easy...we like SB's too! If you come across a nice one with tons of options, let me know - I'm interested http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I here ya, but I am sticking to my guns on what that car is worth if it is as nice as he claims, Most of these cars selling are wrong motor, tons of new metal installed,etc.. looks like a nice driver to me and the a/c is working and not in the trunk in a box.

I think it was in the garage next to Denis's car for grandpa but was snagged before he made it there.
