These guys are BAD--they thought a '63 Fuelie CORVETTE that just brought $137,500 -- they said it was RARE because it had a Wide Chrome Molding on the lower body!!! Last night they didn't know what the AIR system was on a Corvette, somebody e-mailed them the answer.. They were looking at the COPO Chevelle and couldn't figure out if they had aluminum heads or not, they said they couldn't tell because they didn't have a magnet!! They should have somebody qualified to be discussing and commenting on the Muscle Cars and the Vettes.. GOD Forbid if any Muscle Car is Green they hate it but if it is a Jaguar they love it.. What do you guys think??? Mark http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Thinking the same same thing last night, Idiots, the AIR comment and discussion was rediculous...These guys are bad and should be replaced. They are making Barrett- Jackson look like fools. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

These guys are doing a good enough job making fools out of themselves. Did you see when the black 58 Chevy convertible came up. They were saying that the 58 weren't as popular as the 55-57s and it wouldn't sell for nearly as much as the 57 convertible. If I remember correctly the 57 sold for $102,000 and the 58 brought $104,000.
They were trashing the green COPO Camaro. Someone told them that the COPOs weren't about the color of the car and interior but about what was under the hood. They definately need someone that knows a little about muscle cars.

OMG!!! They definitely need someone who knows AMERICAN cars! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif One of the first cars that went through on Thursday night was a "Panther Pink" Challenger. The announcer called it "<font color="purple">PLUM CRAZY</font>"! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Thank God I have my own personal "commentator" (my husband http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif). He's constantly correcting them, LOL!

Rita http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PS~ How many of you guys have "AL-YOU-MINIUM" heads under your "bonnet"? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Next time I need to fill my PET TROL tank I’ll clean my WIND SCREEN then pop the bonnet to see if my LUMP has the "AL-YOU-MINIUM" heads

Agreed!

One thing I will give them credit for, though, was a comment on a custom. It had a 350/auto and they said it could bring more with a different combo cuz its power was so generic in the custom scene.

The descriptions of the cars there are horrible, full of misleading info or just plum wrong. One Panther Pink Challenger is a clone that was originally brown, but there is no mention of it in the info there.

Do any of you know the real story on the yellow Z/28? I assume documentation including the cross-ram and disc brakes, but $112 grand? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well the British guy, Alan DeCadanet, is really good on the Speed Channel series "Victory by Design." But on that show he's scripted and errors in his knowledge are corrected before the cameras roll. At B-J he just rambles and babbles and gets alot of things wrong. I suppose it can be challenging to have to continually comment on live TV about various cars but some of their comments and opinions are better left unsaid. Brock Yates was kinda' snarky today too. I agree, Speed definately needs better commentators when it comes to B-J coverage.

I'm going to send them my resume, this has indeed reached the ridiculous stage http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

They should have someone like us to fill in whenever an American Muscle Car comes on and let the English Bloke take a break. His biggest excitement on Saturday was all the time he spent in the trunk of some foreign car unwrapping and giving exciting descriptions about the car's matching luggage - DUH

I realize most of you guys don't know me that well, but can I put you down for references on the resume? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Anybody seen the movie "Best in Show"? If you think these guys were bad you should rent this very funny movie about a prestigious kennel club dog show...

Someone needs to smack Brock Yates; from his ridiculous comments about the COPO's to his bashing the GTO's that were built after the 389 equipped cars. What an idiot. Oh, and how about the guy who swore the exhaust from the AAR Cudas and T/A Challenger ran back over the rearend and returned to exit in front of the rear tire http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif I realize nobody's an expert but come on.

Wasn't that Mike Joyce? (Name?) He's a NASCAR announcer and he was all over the cars. Did you notice he kept touching the paint and running his fingers over chrome pieces?

If I was a seller/buyer, I'd make the guy WASH my car afterward!
http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

If you watched the show while logged-on to the Net, you could tell the announcers were reading info right off the Barrett-Jackson.com website!

Someone asked e-mailed and asked if the announcers were interested in any cars. The guys both agreed their wive's were stopping them from making any transactions but we all know lack of knowledge is the real reason. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Alan de Cadanet was also opening hoods and pawing cars as they came on stage. He clumsily fiddled with that Hemi Superbird's hood and finally got it opened. The other guy, Mike Joy (I think it's "Joy") also smeared his DNA on several cars. Maybe there's an agreement to allow the TV guys a bit of free-reign with the cars for the sake of the TV coverage.

If Alan de Cadanet says "zed-f" one more time I'm gonna' mute the TV for the rest of the auction. Okay Alan, we get it, you're from England and you speak 'proper' english. Okay, it's not a "ZF" gearbox in the GT-40, it's a "zed-f" box. (Please, no offense intended toward our well-spoken bretheren from across the pond!)

Okay, "Victory by Design" is on, gotta' run!

Yes, Mike "Joy" it is, thanks!
I thought of an interesting skit for SNL, where you bring in a shiny musclecar (that's headed for a new paint job) and mimic the B-J auction announcers as they scratch, slobber, drip, spill and otherwise totally maim the paint job on the car.
http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif
They'd be totally oblivious to the damage they were inflicting and would continue to paw all over the thing as they described it in detail.

I would be hilarious to the thousands in our hobby, but to the Gen Pub it would probably be misunderstood.

Yeah, and get Keenan Ivory Wayans to play his homeless guy character from the old "In Living Color" TV show. You remember--he had raggedy clothes and carried a jar of his own urine with a 'pickle' floating in it:

"Saaaay man, that's a nice car! Lemme' check it out--OOPS!" (Sound of broken glass and a splash.) "Oh man, lookit the paint--the stuff in my jar's makin' it bubble up and come off!"
