started as a L78 car. Doc'd by Vince E.
Jeff, What does that mean?
It was coded as an L-78?
Should that buildsheet have L-72 written somewhere on it?
Do all L-72 COPO's begin the build process coded with L-78's then the the 9560 overides it?

Yes, they were L-78 cars, with the COPO codes on the lower left. Each COPO code is a package, with several additions and deletions that are required to build the car. To really understand these cars, you need to know the COPO codes and what each code consists of.

The Yenko Chevelle in question is said to be the real deal. I was discussed here at length a while back. The seller had it on e-bay and had a no sale at like 89 or 99K.

I wouldnt worry to much, If you do win it and go check it out and it is not what its suppose to be as advertised you can legally pass on it. Have you spoken to the owner yet?
I was going to bid on it but I dont want to run the price up on the guys who really want it, Id rather find a camaro.
Good Luck,

This is the same car that was on EBAY awhile ago, it's Jerry Janota's old car. Sold new at Nankivell Chevrolet, a/t, am, v/t, r/a, bus, & p/s, nice combo.
I believe this chevelle is an original Yenko chevelle
...documentation from Vince Emme
...with build sheet
....I saw the car when it was painted the non-original color ( red ) and the original motor and rear and transmission was out of the car.
....the present owner repainted the car within the last 4 to 6 months and installed the original motor and rear end and transmission ( which I believe may be the original also.)
...Check with the owner if you have questions...but it looks like a good investment.http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

The auction was ended early. It was up to a little over $87K. Must have had an offer he couldn't refuse.
James
I thought when this Chevelle was on Ebay recently it was bid up to 85K,with reserve not met.The seller emailed me that 90K takes it.It does look nice.
...That is what he emailed me also http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I don't understand something here. After 1 1/2 days the bidding is over $87K. He ends the auction with 5 1/2 days left and offers the car to some of the bidders at $90K. To me, that is not very smart. Why not let the auction run til the end? The bidding may have reached well over $90K. If it doesn't, then offer it to the high bidder. Am I missing something here?
James
John,
Was this car ever at the Super Chevy show in Richmond (maybe back in the late 1990's)? I seem to remember a unrestored red car that was claiming to be a Yenko. Did you ever restore your Camaro.
the email I received was from the last time he listed it on ebay...not recently.
...He may have been offered more??? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
...I never saw it at Richmond...but it may have been at an event I did not attend.
...and I am still driving mine occasionally http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
and have not attempted a "Frame-Off"... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

In the late 90's it was still in IL to my knowledge.
Did anyone here buy this Chevelle?
I see the seller ended the auction early, and most of the bidders were from here...Kevin H.?
