Was told that Hugger orange was a copo color only for these ? By 2 others..I think the tag was 72 code as well as the build sheet...

I've seen 1 70 el camino that was H/O. It had -- on the tag. If thats got a code 72 on the tag I'd think it to be pretty rare.( I'm not trying to start anything here, no bashing intended) Any 70 chevelle, or El camino in that color would be cool, and unique. Schonye

For some reason, I was thinking 70 instead of 69. I think either the code 72, or -- could be correct. Very cool truck Schonye

That would make a great tow vehicle for my HO JL8 car! I'll trade you my 91 SS454 pickup for it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just to add something here, for 1969 two colors were available on SS models that were not available on Malibus and 300 Deluxes without the SS option. They were Monaco Orange (72) and Daytona Yellow. These two colors were also available on COPO's and were coded "--" as they were not SS cars.

I sold my 69 L78 Monaco Orange El Camino last year, it had the 72 paint code on the trim tag.
