View Full Version : What Is Wrong With This Cowl Tag?

The cowl tag in this photo in the attached link is from a 67 Pace Car Camaro. Is it just me or does this tag not look correct? Seems to be stamped in instead of out. I need some thoughts on this as I have a client that wants the car but I am not comfortable with this for some reason.
Thanks,

Mo it's just your eyes...look at the shadows of the letters..it looks stamped right. That damn window pane stays with you a long time.

It looks ok compared to a lot of the tags in Jerry's book. For some reason it almost looks like it's a little flattened. But the information looks like it's all in the right place.

BelAir, how come you seem to know so much about Timothy Leary vintage drugs? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That thing is a frigin' optical illusion. I had to look at it 3-4 times before the letters looked raised to me.

The pic you attached looked to me like it was a Neg pic so I inverted the colors and now it looks like it should. I will say the wording thats on the tag prior to the stamping the cars info is pretty smooth though. Did I ever send you the 1st Gen VIN/Trim tag decoder at all that Daniel put together?

scroll down to the bottom of the first page and he has the decoder programs there. Neat items and helps with all the RPO codes and such.
