Does anybody know why these have taken off in price lately? I seem to remember reading something about the unknown future of the Franklin mint or is this more of the "Chevelle effect" which is driving prices through the roof?

Thats not unusal guys.
That price is in line with the rest of the world today. The Red 70 Chevelle is the rareset produced with Franklin Mint.I believe only 5000 were made.
The Blue & Black 70 Models had 15-20K each made, and sell around $50-80.00 each.
There is nothing unusual here.

Is there any resource/s out there that serve as a price guide for these Franklin Mint models? I've got a few I'd be interested to see what they might be worth these days.

Thanks.

There is a black Z-28 that the mint put out back in 2000 or so that routinely goes for over $200. There is also a Blue Yenko Camaro put out by ERTL that is tought to touch for under $250 anymore. Some of the prices are insane on the die cast these days.
