There are 2 auctions by different sellers for a wrecked Enzo. The car is to be auctioned by the insurance company. The Ebay auction is for the right for the sellers to bid on the car on for the winning bidder. Basically it is an auction for the right to bid in another auction. Here are the links to the 2 auctions.

The original post is not about the car being auctioned. It is about the way it is being auctioned. I should have posted it in the lounge. Your smarta$$ comments were uncalled for. I was not aware that I had to ask for your permission to post here.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif I like that one Al !!
The lucky guys who got those cars had to sign an agreement to offer the car back to the dealer before they could sell it. Guess that doesn't apply if you total one. I wonder what it would cost to repair that car? Repaired properly it would still bring more than a million bucks. Beautiful car. There is one in the showroom of Ferrari of Atlanta on Alph. Hwy. Surely whoever wrecked that car will go straight to hell. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
From the it's-a-small-world dept. My next door neighbor is a car broker. Sells anything on wheels and many exotics. I mention the Enzo to him yesterday. Well just a few minutes ago he saw me on my deck and stepped out and said "what a small world, I was just talking to the guy that owns that Enzo". Long story short he says the car can be bought from the insurance co for $500K and fixed for $120K!! Naturally this has my attention. Is this possible? I saw a Ferrari F50 I think)on the internet a few years ago that was really wrecked and it was repaired to like new condition. I missed out on the McLaren opportunity, maybe this Enzo has my name on it!! Yeah, I know I'm nuts. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
PS - he's going to talk to the guy again tomorrow. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Buy an F40 with a clean title, and then pick out a Yenko, Baldwin, Nickey, etc., of your choice, pay for 1 year of insurance on both, AND get a couple of drums of Sunoco 110 put in the corner of your garage with a drum pump.
Why? 'Cause it will be the same money as the Enzo project - and that car will never be the same!

The Ferrari world is quite different than the muscle car world. Not two weeks ago I was at the track in Palm Beach and saw a beautiful 360 Spider that hit a wall and had it's side bashed in. There was also a guy racing his 12 million dollar (give or take a couple million) 62' Ferrari 250 GTO around the track. Talk about balls! (The GTO did not receive a scratch that day!)
When I asked a guy at Lime Rock who was racing his 4 million dollar Alfa Romeo at the track and winning the class if he was nervous his reply was the car was built to be raced. I think that is the mentality of the true Ferrari enthusiast. Use it.. if it breaks... have it fixed or rebuilt.
I am amazed at the restorations done to complete basket case cars. Symbolic Motorcars in California had a 50's racing Ferrari that was purchased for 800k for a pile of parts and completely restored. You should have seen what they had to work with... not recognizable as a car.
I read somewhere that almost every Ferrari ever built is on the road. I am sure there are some that have been destroyed but most Ferrari's are rebuit. Now the cars I mentioned above were classic cars with racing history (except the 360 Spider). I am curious to know how the value of this car will be affected. But do remember that this is an extremely low production super car. Oh, you should hear the sound of this cars engine.... damn....
I was told yesterday that if the frame is not bent it can be sent back to Farrari for repair. Otherwise there are elite shops that can repair it to like new status. The title will still say "wrecked". However, if you have the proper documentation to confirm that it was repaired properly wrecked may not matter that much. After all, think of how many old muscle cars were, though possibly not wrecked, nontheless basket cases at one time. Who cares now??
