Does anyone have any experience dealing with the NICB?
I have tracked the history of my car by the owners, back to the second owner, the trail ends at the lot where he bought the car.
The first owner is deceased and the car was sold at auction to Downtown Motors.

I have verified that the NICB has documentation on my car, but they won't release it due to the governing rules.
What info would this document contain? I have been told it carries the dealer destination only???

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

All they can tell you, and that's not even 100% sure, is the original selling dealer, and, if it was ever stolen. Make friends with a law enforcement official who has access.

Just to add what Mike said, mine also included the date of delivery to the Selling Dealership.
It was 6 days after the Fisher Cowl tag date.

Just curious as to who I would need to contact to get NICB info? Can the local police do it, or a federal law enforcement officer?

NCIB report contains the zone and dealer number where the car was delivered. If the vehicle was transferred, it will not note this. I believe that these records are from old shipping records. Date of delivery and some weight information may be included also. I've found this information helpful when I've been able to get it.
