Spray-on tire chain option?

I've heard that there was a spray on tire chain option on some first-gen. camaros. Is this true? Aparently there was supposed to be some nozzle that sprayed some gunk on the tire to aid the tire in getting more traction. Does anyone have proof of this? Can anyone find any pics of this? I heard that it was pretty rare; probably not many around.

1969 Model year only.
RPO V75 Liquid Tire Chain option where 188 units were sold. Consisted of a dash operated aerosol can of Deicer. You can find the cans on Ebay now and then. The cars were mounted insid the trunk through the trunks floor allowing it to be sprayed onto the top of the tires. Cost was $23.20

I agree, It's a pretty neat idea! Not sure if it actually helped that much, but still, it's cool. I think I saw a camaro on ebay quite some time ago that had this option on it. . . it said that everything was intact, but he didn't have pics of it on the auction; wonder why?

You can see a picture of it n Action on Page 56 of Micheal Antonicks,"Illustrated Camaro Buyers Guide".
It was a very rare option in 1969,RPO V75 available for All Chevrolet cars,and Cost $23.20.
It was scheduled to be an RPO for the 1970 Chevelle,but was Cancelled early,before production.It was available over the Parts Counter as well.
Vacuum Operated Trunk Mounted Cylinders were installed behind one,or both rear tires in the trunk wheel hose.You inserted a can of Liquid tire Chain,and screwed the Vacuum operated Plunger top onto it.The Button was mounted on the dash,and worked of Engine Vacuum,through rubber hoses.Once depressed,the Plunger in the Trunk applicator would engage and the Aerosol can would spray onto the tires tread.I believe it was basically Ether,to melt the sorrounding Snow.
It was most installed on cars headed for the Ice belt states,as compared to the sunbelt obviously.
I have the exact same thing Camarojoe is showing,as well as a Cardboard Parts counter display,with Easel & Banner,and I found an NOS Dual Liquid Tire Chain Deluxe Acc.kit that they would sell over the Parts counter,to install in a car seperately.

Impala-2086
It was cancelled for cars built off the line in 1970.

I think it's more like a sticky substance than a ice melter.I have some residue on a few cans of mine.The switch to trigger the spray is the same as a vaccum trunk release switch.The tire chain switch is moulded in red unlike the trunk release which is black.The spray was made by Dow Chemical.It was first in a promo package in early 69 with the Dow label than switched to the cans shown above for use in cars.The actual spray was sold and packaged under several brands such as Shell.I found a 69 Z with this option.This was one of two options on this particular car,the other was speed warning.Strange car....
