I've seen this car on ebay multiple times, and the car has never sold. AMC Javelin (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2464144413&category=53 57)
I've had photos of my car up here on the site, the 1976 Motion schemed Camaro (not a true Motion), and was wondering what everyone's thoughts would be on a trade for this vehicle. It has a 360 w/4 sp., whereas mine has a 305 w/turbo 350. Basically I'm after something different, and something that has a little more "balls" than a 305. The guy would take an even trade for my car, but I still feel that mine's worth more. What do you think? I already tried to see if he'd throw in a couple bucks and he said he wouldn't. I don't know if It's worth it. Enclosed is a pic of my car if you haven't seen it already.

I took a quick look at the AMC pics. The underhood and interior shots show some pretty sloppy workmanship. I would think long and hard about a car like that. Would pass on it myself.

No offense but that AMC looks like a real turd compared to your Camaro. If you want more balls for your car swap in a 350 or a stroker. I'd pass on that AMC for sure. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

If you are bored, just put a more ballsy engine in your Camaro.

I agree 100%. There is no way I'd give up that Camaro for one of those. The Camaro looks way better, and go-fast parts are easy to swap in there. If you traded, you'd be taking a giant leap backwards, and would probably regret it later.

Keep the Camaro. If the Javelin was as clean as your Camaro, then I'd consider it, but that AMC is a BEAST! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

Thanks for the opinions guys . . . It made me realize that I wasn't thinking too clearly.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a '69 Camaro? I know it's stereotypical, but I really want a '69. A 4 speed would be cool in that!

I am somewhat bored with my car, and it's due to the lack of horsepower. Suffised to say, I have absolutely no money to beef up my Camaro (It all went to the looks); all show and no go.

Quite some time ago I missed out on an auction for a '69, I think the price was around $3800, and it was even in Wisconsin! I had just bought my car at the time, and there was no way my mother would let me have 2 cars, so I missed out. Here's some pics of it . . .

The driver's side quarter was rough, and definitely needed to be replaced, but I could've done that. So much for my dreams . . .

It even had Cragars on it!

Skirk...it's a Kenosha Cadillac...it may not be as nice as your but just think of the State heritage there...

We're not exactly known for cars here, but known for the rust that comes with 'em!

I'm pretty sure that we're also known for the most bars per square mile . . . http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

And don't forget the cheese curds! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

I don't think the heritage of the car really affects me too much, I'm just looking for a musclecar in Wisconsin . . . preferrably a '69 Camaro for a "reasonable" price, hence my signature below. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

WHY NOT JUST PUT SOME HORSEPOWER IN YOUR CAMARO, IT'S A SWEET LOOKING RIDE. SMALL BLOCK CHEVY PARTS ARE RELATIVELY CHEAP AND EASY TO INSTALL. IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET, BUYING AN OLD CAR THAT NEEDS RESTORATION DOES NOT MAKE MUCH SENSE WHEN YOU ALREADY HAVE SUCH A NICE CAR TO BUILD ON. THROW A COUPLE THOUSAND DOLLARS INTO A 350 AND YOU WILL HAVE A STRONG, GOOD-LOOKING CAR. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Easiest way is to advertise in your local "nickel ads". I have found parts this way that were a bit cheaper than Ebay but if your good at haggling, have cash in hand, or put it in a brown paper bag giving him a peek or two, the seller will relent if motivated. I have noticed that 1969 Camaro prices have moved up pretty fast after the Fast\Furious movie. I think it's everyones favorite year of Camaro. After my projects are gone my next project would be an AMC AMX. Cheaper 2 buy. 2 seats, far-out colors. Camaro parts and prices have gotton out of hand.

[/ QUOTE ]I'm with Mike on that one. Heck even 350 crate motors are getting relatively inexpensive. You've already got the cosmetic part done. Adding more power is the relatively simple part. (Although I'd hesitate dropping one dime into the 305.)
