The Holiday Inn is the place where most stay and where the banquet is held. The show room is a 4 iron away, basically across the parking lot. Not sure what time Rob has the racing scheduled...last year was about 9:00 AM, as I recall. In all honesty, I would like to put the car on the line and do a nice soft "girlie" launch. Laugh all you want but I have a terrible fear of "hurting" the car. Always nice to know when you know just enough to be dangerous and not enough to be good! Helps keep one out of trouble...usually.

When I attended the very 1st Reunion I didn't have a car!! After that I got the FEVER and bought my 1st YENKO and brought it to the 2nd Reunion. Been to EVERY REUNION and would NEVER Miss one!!! GREAT CARS and Alot of Fun and Made some Good Friends along the Way!!

Way to go DC. Glad you are finally going to bring the 'ole Chevelle (like you needed an excuse!). So you still remember how to race? They now use what is called a Christmas Tree and not a flag man like when you last drag raced. I may be there early in the week so I can coach you some. My oh my...........SCR7 is certainly going to be interesting with all the grudge matches and such. Will there be "grief/stress" counselors present at the track? Will law enforcement officials also be present? I know that there will be representation from the funeral home industry there if we need them as well.

Wow! It will be the 1st reunion i've missed in a couple of years. Some new cars showing up with new owners and some cars coming out of the closet. Wife is pregnant and due Sept 10th, man did i plan that one wrong. I am going to the Brickyard race this weekend, the Bristol Race the last weekend in August, and that's all she can handle. If i chanced the reunion, i would lose all my cars and a lot more. Reunion at the reunion. Bob Mcclurg, who photographed many of the cars featured in Super Stock and Drag Illustrated, including the '69 Yenko Camaro and Chevelle, will be re-united with Ed Hedrick, who was the driver of the Yenko Camaro featured in the July, 1969 issue of SS&DI. Even though Ed's Daytona Yellow Yenko Camaro is yet to be found, he is going to make a couple of passes in a similar Camaro.

Is Bill Porterfield scheduled to appear with his #1 69 ZL-1?
I remember last year He & Ken Barnhardt were trying to race eachother.A feat which they said has never been done before,due to timing conflicts.So when they both showed up,& then it rained,(only one lane open),& then Ken had I think a bent pushrod?,we were somewhat disappointed.

The 68 Hemi Barracuda did an 9.87 @ 142 a couple of weeks ago. Not to bad after being stored since 1968. It should be tuned a bit better by the re-union. Joe, the way I understand it, this not a stock Hemi Cuda, but one of the factory built race cars, sold to the public in limited numbers. Big time Hemi power in a light weight package, AKA Sox and Martin.

Tom is correct. This is a limited production Hurst Hemi Barracuda aimed at SS/A or SS/AA. It is a lightweight, fiberglass front fenders, hood, acid dipped doors and bumpers, gutted interior, Race Hemi, Dana, etc. FROM THE FACTORY! When I picked it up at Hurst none of the fiberglass parts were even painted. This is a twin to the Sox & Martin Barracuda or if you will the Hemi Darts (Dick Landy etc. ) of the same age.

In its day with old technology and old tires etc, they consistently turned low 10's. When we redid it I had the valve train, cam, ignition and a few other items updated. I also used 2004 rubber for tires (big difference). The curent versions of this car in competition today run in the 8's. I was very happy with the high 9's but am way off the pace of current stuff.

Jim, should not be a problem, as Ken Barnhart will be attending, and racing. Ken still races the ZL-1 Camaro he bought new from Fred Gibb. He converted it into a superstock racecar way back in '69 and the car is pretty much the way it was raced back then. Will be history in the making to see these two "surviving" race cars on the track at the same time.

You know I love you but I also challenge you (and all of the others) to find a better high than living and breathing 112 octane! This is going to be the greatest reunion ever! No where else has a gathering of this magnitude/quantity of cars ever been displayed in one place at one time! A muscle car lover's dream come true!

For those of you planning to race Friday @ SCR7, we'd appreciate it if you'd throw in a helmet. Also, pants and a shirt with sleeves...not long sleeves, short sleeves are fine, just sleeves of some kind (I got bounced for a sleeveless shirt at MMP!). A driveshaft loop and catch can (a hose from radiator to washer bottle is how most of us Pure Stock guys do it) would be gravy...
