View Full Version : JJ in HMM
Check out a nice article in May Hemmings Muscle Machines about Jimmy Johnsons' 1969 L78/L89 SS Man. Trans.,4:10 rear Nova.Really Nice pictures with what appears to be a Stock car, although he admits,it has been tweaked a little.
His best ET so far at the PMCSDR is 12.28 @ 114 MPH on Firestone G70 Wide Ovals WOW! He's even kept COPO Pete Occupied at these races as well.

Thanks for noticing his feature. It is JJ's first! To bad he is in the Bahama's and has not seen it yet!
Also a good article on the Pure Stock Drags in the June issue of Corvette Enthusiast where Jimmy is described as follows......
"Jimmy is like a nuclear powered robotic shifting machine...."

The first time I met J.J. was at a pure stock meet in Salem, Ohio. I had just bought my ZL-1 and it was running Terrible. J.J. came over and adjusted the valves, set up the timing and adjusted the carb. JJ. made a run in the 13's which was good with the stock exhaust and F-70-14's. The car has run great ever since. He also worked on my '69 RS Z-28 at the Norwalk Pure Stock meet. We had problems with the shifter, kept missing 2nd gear and he adjusted the shifter. Really NICE guy and Willing to help. Glad he got some Recognition in the magazine.
