I wish I could steal this one but I am sure that everybody on here can and will outbid me so I though I would share it with all of you cause if this is the real deal it will go through the roof before it is over.

Larry,
It will be interesting to follow this auction. At this point, there are still six days left. The market is very strong for this car and I couldn't image what the "reserve" is set at. It's amazing that it still retains its original powertrain after all of its time on the track. Nick... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

That was my thought exactly. Usually the motor is the first thing to go. Of course nobody ever thought of pulling it and setting it in the corner and putting a crate motor in one to race back then.
The guy seems to have all kinds of good documentation on the car. Sounds like something nice to own. I could do with a black top though. I like the blue but the white top is not my favorite. I am guessing that it will be sold before it makes it 6 more days.
I was expecting this to be a "known" car on this forum.
Wish I could have it for myself, but it is down to either a new garage or something like this.
Dammmm I wish my powerball lottery ticket would hurry and hit...! I know that I would blow it all on muscle cars....
(Sigh....!!!!)

This Blue LS6,& it's Red LS6 mate were Written about often back in the 80's in "The Chevelle Report".
They report a Best ET of 12.20@ 108MPH and was the AA/PS IHRA Pure Stock record holder in 1983 & 84 for the Blue LS6.
The Red LS6,although much more tweaked, ran a best of 11.30 @ 118MPH and was the A/PSA IHRA Pure stock record Holder in 1987.
Mark M. was the NCOA president back then, and He & David Bunn were close in those days.David owned and operated "GM Muscle",and advertised alot back in those decades mags.I have the NCOA issues here that really show better detailed shots of this Chevelle performing,as well as the July 1990 "Muscle Cars",which features both of David Bunn's Chevelles on the cover with a great feature story.
They do say the White Vinyl top & Dash Clock were originally Dealer installed in 1970.
David's Partner was Jim Parker,& he alone has owned a few desireable Supercars over the years, such as Yenko Camaros.

Now I know that I want to play the Powerball for sure. Man that is the info that I was just sure that someone on here would know about this car.
I sure kick my self for not buying some of these cars and hanging on to them back when they were cheap.
Thanks for the info...
Come on 7 come 11..!!!! Ha..!

This would certainly be a great Chevelle to own. For the numbers guys, what is interesting is both the rear and engine block are dated least 6 months prior to the cars build date. Goes to show that they don't always precede line up as close to the car's build date like so many people assume.

Isn't that interesting? I didn't even notice that. I was so impressed by it having everything there. Wonder if they are the actual OEM parts for sure?
Is this the only one like that or is there others out there with that much lead time?

Mark,
Is this the car that might pull you away for the 67 Z-28???? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Not totally away Steve http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I have a list of cars that I'd like to own and I will pull the trigger on the right car when it shows up. Who knows how long it will take to find the "right" RS Z, so I need to start working on my list now. My first car was a '70 Chevelle, so they have always been one of my favorites. How's the car coming? Everything OK with the original motor?

Zedder - Did you see the 1967 Z-28 in Hemmings? It was in the last issue. I can look for it if you want.

Thanks Dan. Yes, I know the car as it belongs to a friend of mine. It found a new home within a few days of the issue being released.
