I got the email(s) below from Brad Rising, about the upcoming tv coverage of the Factory Stock Drags in Norwalk, OH. This should be from the event last spring. From this board there was myself (had tranny problems), Pete and JJ, and Casey, and probably some others I'm forgetting. Anyway, here's the info:

<font color="red">"Hi Folks, I just received this email from the Travel Channel, looks like the show that covers the 2003 Factory Stock Drag race will air this Saturday 4-17-04 at 8 pm. &amp; 11 pm E.S.T. on the Travel Channel. I don't know how much of the race is on the show, but we'll find out Saturday night! As most of you know, we are taking a year off in 2004 from our race at Norwalk, but our good friends Dan Jensen &amp; Bob Boden have offered to put on a spring race in Michigan to fill in for us this year on June 25th &amp; 26th, a Friday &amp; Saturday at Mid Michigan motorplex. Check out their website at : purestockdrags.com for more information, and we'll see you there! Enjoy the show! I am sending this from my office as I wanted to get the information to everybody that may have some interest, you can still contact us at [email protected]. Thanks, Brad"</font>

I thought it was pretty Good.I video taped it,if anyone missed it.They showed Rob doing Burnouts,JJ going away, and Pete Gettin Sticky.I heard Casey's name over the background PA,with him driving the Cutlass.
It was mostly about the GTO for the first 30 minutes,as it did kickoff the Musclecar craze. But all &amp; all I found it fun to watch, with good Vintage Commercial footage,as well as capturing the atmosphere of the craze across the country. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I taped it also. Really feel Chevy got ripped off - every other scene was that same Mustang driving by http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif.
It was cool to see some familiar cars from Norwalk though http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

But why the commercial of the '70 Plymouth land barge as a "muscle car?" It was a big 4-door Fury (?) going over the sand dunes. I thought "What the fu___?"

I would have liked to see more old chevy commercials and more of the white and yellow Camaros at the drag strip.

Was that Glasgo in a '70 Le Mans getting the hole shot on a white '69 Camaro?

Yep, Glasgo's "Stock Appearing" Poncho versus Pete's "Certified Stock" ZL-1...I *believe* Pete may have ran him down? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Yes he got the holeshot! I cut a .522 light to his .476..... as in BULB! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
John is a pretty good driver. We've had a lot of good races over the years!

I thought it was pretty cool too. Not exactly what I expected, but cool none-the-less. I was kinda bummed until about the last 5 minutes when they showed me running Tom Artes 68 1/2 428CJ Mustang.

My brother taped it on VHS AND has already burned it to DVD. If anyone is interested, I can probably get him to burn some more copies. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Yeah, not too bad. I was suprised to see some shots of our yellow car, as I spent WAY more time working on the car than I did driving it. I think I made 3 passes in 2 days? Not much return from a 16 hour drive if ya ask me! Friggin' tranny...

Oh, and if I'm not mistaken, I *believe* there's supposed to be some Pure Stock Drags coverage on "My Classic Car" this week (starts tonight).

My mom called me yesterday afternoon to let me know that she saw it too. She said that she knew when it was me and the W-31 by the way that I was holding the steering wheel doing a burnout ..... I didn't want to ask her how she knew what I looked like in my "drag race profile". http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I didn't think that she saw me all those times I thought I was getting away with a "stealth" burnout in front of their house ........... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Just watched Rob spank a Stude twice on my Classic Car... Funny how they save that for last so you have to sit through the rest of the otherwise dull show to see the good stuff. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Congrats Rob! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
