Man, Mr 70! I think you've got me over rated!!!! But thanks. Truth is..... I'm still not positive I'm going..... sorry. I do have a spot reserved, but with planting season being in full swing, I have to wait on the weather. If we get dumped on with rain the day before, I will be there. To bad, would be real interested in seeing ya. You just might yet!

The price of admission is worth watching some of the best duke it out. It's nice to watch some of the fastest and nicest Mopars lose to the Bowtie bergad.

Johnny Cat got a taste of a slick track and 6" tires. Nothing like kicken' her sideways at the 1/8 mile mark... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I keep having more and more of a blast with this Biscayne ! I was able to get in pretty consistent 13.4x times, with a best all day of a 13.42@104 . That is the best the car has run yet. I can complain a little bit about the washboard-esque starting line, giving me some wheel hop fits, but other than that I had a good time. If I could get it to leave just a little bit harder, the car would be movin' pretty good in my book ! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif I am simply AMAZED at how HARD this 427 pulls ! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif All of my 13.4x runs were shifting it at 65-6600 RPM ! That is with .024 intake, and .028 exhaust lash. (Thanks Pete !) Now if I could just get it weighed to have my curiousity fulfilled on how heavy this thing is, I'd be mucho-happy. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

The best part was - - My Pure Stock 427/425 horse Biscayne was paired up against a Stock Appearing '70 LT-1 Corvette. I ended up beating him 2 outta 2. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I also met L78Impala (Bill Maloney) and his buddy, who are BigCar lovers too. Nice guys ! Hope to see y'all at future events ! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

PS - Rob .... I got some more information on the Nickey Biscayne that "popped" up in conversation by one of the spectators ...... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Chevy454

Casey:

What were your short times? Johnny & I watched you (from the line) run several times, and it looked like it was transferring it's weight VERY nicely. I just wasn't sure how a big car on coils & skinnies would react, but it looks like it works fine!

So, was the Marauder/Biscayne match-up early in the day a peak into a future "Big Cars Gone Bad" article? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Casey Marks

Ummmm ..... errr ..... Short times ...... <yeh> ... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Anywhere from a 2.08 - best to a 2.4x something - worse. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In my feeble defense, this is only my second time racing a 4-speed car, so I have a BUNCH of learnin' to do. Rumor has it, that I'm just a pair of cowboy boots away from being able to rip gears ........ http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

...... and all this time, I thought that my checkboard Vans - Spicolli shoes, were the ticket ...... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
