Howdy,
I need to share a new car I found last week and have been trying to get home all week; one of those deals that has you a wreck before it’s done,
Anyway it was spring break up here last week and we decided to take the kids on a Train ride up to B.C. for a couple of days and visit there really neat Aquarium they have,
long story short I spied this car in a pen behind a warehouse in a industrial park on the way up to B.C from the train, talk about mess a guys weekend up, had to sit up there and wonder what the deal was with the car, well I found the car on Mon when I came back and struck a deal on the car but the right front disc caliper was off the car for a rebuild as it had decided to puke fluid past the seals, and the seller was a crotchety old foreman, took all week of babysitting this guy to get the car back together and bleed the brakes so I could run it around the business park.
What we have is a ’67 Custom Coupe Caprice, 396 325hp, T-400, 12-bolt posi, Power Disc brakes, A/C, power windows, deluxe interior I think its called a strato bench seat.
Motor is numbers match and rebuilt, it has a black repaint that was about a 9 it was pretty nice but the guy shared the garage with the kids and it has a few scratches that go to bare metal, UGH!
Here are a few pics from this week from the pen it was in and just after I washed a major amount of dust off it, story I have gotten is it has been layed up for the past 20 years in a Garage in Spokane which is the desert part of our state, and he had to do a quick sale due to a divorce, I hope to catch up with him but he left this guys Co. as a driver a couple of weeks ago, as all the paperwork that was supposed to be in the trunk is not there, most of the rest of the car looks like it is there but still apart from the repaint. Don’t pick on her to much I just got it home this afternoon, after I hit it with the buffer she should look pretty good except for the scratches.
Special Thanks to Denis for helping me decode the thing as the real deal while on the run from a cell phone while I was at the car and him on the net surfing, that was kinda fun actually! added a little more excitement to the hunt.
And also to Rick for his help as well on big car knowledge and advice,
Cheers to another one saved, Bud. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
