I bought 3 old license plate frames at the swap meet last weekend and have never heard of 2 them? I tried both of the searchable database's but neither of them has Key Chev. on record. Has anyone heard of Key Chevrolet in Cupertino? That's Calf is it not?

I found the other one on the database as Cormier Chevrolet, in Long Beach CA. This one must be a old one because it only has 830-5100 as the phone # with no Area Code #, or perhaps that is a current frame? All of these are in great shape!

The third one was just a new generic "Chevrolet" at the top and "USA -1" in dark yellow on a black background. Thought I would use it on the Nova till I can come up with a Evans Chev frame for it. I also need the dealer sticker on the trunk for it too.

I used to live near them. There was one of those LS-6 crate motors sitting in the parts department for a long time. They also had some modified Camaros in the 80's, from the same company that made the Pontiac Toejam that we were talking about last year. I was on their lot one day looking at some Camaros, and a salesman came up to bother me. I told him that I was just looking, and he told me that their insurance did not allow people to be on the lot unescorted! What a jerk. I have never been back there. I bought my Camaro at a different dealer.

Thanks that is what I needed to know. Funny that they are not in the dealers listings. I put the town down as Calif and it still didnot come up.

That was a while ago as you can see by the date on the tag. It went on my '70 BM vette but now it has this tag on it. I also have one that says Motion1 that went on the '69 BM vette. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Cool...! that is the one I thought I was buying it for; but now see it is a totally different one.

BTW: I have a handfull of emblems like that somewhere that I was always removing from the cars on the lot that I owned. I had a silver "SuperCars" decal that I would replace them with. I think I still have them somewhere as I was collecting them to use as a "conversation piece" on a wall hanging, to have in my office. I am still finding lots of interesting "little things" that I boxed up when I moved years ago.

I have been going back through all my old loan and purchace records to glean the S/N of all of the old performance Cars that I bought back in '72-'84 when I ran the car lot.

Of course I bought a lot of them before that. I found the loan on the '69 BM Vette that I used to finance the putchace of the used car lot (11-26-72) that I changed the name to Super Car Center from Super Cars of Tulsa. I bought out 3 friends that were trying to split the income and were just not making it when the oil embargo hit.

I had a Skelly service station a few blocks away and sold a lot of cars to them. I was fed up with the service station business because some bastard broke in and stole and striped my Green 40 Chev coupe with a SB in it. When they said they were putting it up for sale I just went to my banker and borrowed the 2 grand that they wanted for their improvments on the vacant lot. I took over the lease on the land ($400 Per Mo.) Man that was the smartest thing I ever did. I still have my first Dollar hanging on the wall from that place. I was in the Black the very first month.

Some one said I was lucky to be able to hold on to the cars that I have and I always knew that they would be worth a bunch someday. I remember telling my friends that '69 motion might be worth 50-60,000 thousand dollars someday. Back then, that was a lot of money.
