the camaro has an engine but it was blown up in 84 when it was parked, i was rebuilt at least once as the deck has been machined, so no dz code. hope to get it also, nice project.

You should run the plates on the Z28 and make sure they are no longer in the system. If they are you better hurry before you pay alot more to own that Z. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

the plates will not be in the system, in alberta after 10 years the plates are deleted of the system, the registration sticker on the plate says 84 so that was the last time entered in system. the car is still in alberta but the owner now lives in utah. one day i hope to get the car and restore to original condition. i do not think the owner is to eager to sell. but his cousin is trying to make the deal between us. so hopefully it will happen. thanks.

That paint job on the Mustang is so cool. I would clean it up and leave it. I want both of them.

If it really is Platt's car, it would undoubtedly be from one of the first 50 428CJ fastbacks, which were "lightweights" of sorts, and were all white. Here's a FAQ reply from Scott Hollenbeck's 428CJ website:
"? Factory 1968 428 Cobra Jet Mustang drag racing vehicles can be identified by their VIN.
True! In late December 1967 (date code 30M), Ford produced 50 Wimbledon White sportsroof Mustangs with black vinyl interiors for drag racing duty. The vehicles were numbered sequentially, starting with VIN 8F02R135007 and ending with VIN 8F02R135056."
A check of the Mustang's VIN should tell the tale. E-mail me with any other questions you might have. Thanks for sharing your finds and good luck with your potential purchase.
