Hi,

I see the Z/28 stripe option on a lot of '67's and it looks good, but I imagine that this was only an option for the z/28's. I wonder how 'wrong' it would look to have the stripes on my '67 RS conv? Car is currently Bolero Red and I think white Z stripes would look cool.

However, I think that any Camaro would be correct with the optional bumble bee stripe option. That's to say, I understand that anyone could have ordered that stripe option for any Camaro, no matter the model? Be it SS, RS, SS/RS, plain jane, etc.? Is that correct?

Not that it really matters, but I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to pull off a look as if my conv. is a Z, so I might just go with the bumble bee stripe--or would either be just as incorrect since this isn't an SS (as I always thought that was an option only for SS before)? Either way, I still might go either way--I just think one or the other would look a lot better than a solid red. Thanks.

The bumble bee stripe came standard on SS or SS with the RS trim package in 1967. I believe it could also be optioned on any Camaro model other than Z-28. The Z-28 stripes (a.k.a rally stripes or runway stripes) only came on Z-28's, although they could be deleted on Z-28's as well. The only exceptions to this rule are the 69 Indy Pace cars.

Personally I prefer the bumble bee stripes to the Z-28 stripes on most non-Z28 cars, although my kid's plane Jane coupe looks awesome with them along with the cowl induction hood.

It's your car, so do what you like, although the bumble bee stripe would be more correct on an RS convertible.

Thanks a lot for confirming that. I might leave the Z stripes for a Z, when I get one (eventually). For now, I might go with the bumble bee. Cheers!
